...and how many of them were signed by Rafa?

Maybe Rafa is trying to get a good youth program in place much like Arsenal's League Cup finalists...

Liverpool have added another young prospect to their ranks in the shape of Swedish teenager Alexander Kacaniklic.

The midfielder first impressed during a 12-day trial at Anfield in February, before shining again in April, and has now signed a three-year contract to move to England.

Explaining his decision to leave Helsingborgs, the 15-year-old expressed his belief that his career will be better served on Merseyside.

"It's at this age you develop the most and the conditions are much better at Liverpool," Kacaniklic told Helsingborgs Dagblad.

Rafa Benitez is currently plotting an overhaul of his first team squad, and the acquisition of the young midfielder is another step in his side project to freshen up his reserve options.

Another young star of the future signs. Looks like Rafa is really getting serious about signing up the best young players.

The reality is that most of the youngsters we sign probably won't make it at Liverpool, but because they cost peanuts I don't see it as a risk signing a lot of them, rather a good idea on Rafa's part.

Rafa realises this I'm sure and is thus buying lots of youngsters with potential hoping a few of them will be regualr starters in the future. If we get 4-5 first teamers (not necessarily starters) out of the lot Rafa has signed the last two seasons or so and also sell a couple more off at a profit then it represents an excellent investment IMO.

It's true that not all young lads make it at LFC, like other clubs.

But really how much do we lose by giving them a chance at least?

The potential reward for finding a star outweights the expense of giving them a shot.

i like that were buying all these youngsters they dont cost much and all it takes is for 2 or 3 of them to make the first team and we will reap the rewards

you dont win the lottery unless you buy a ticket and the more tickets you buy the better your odds of winning become
