What happens when we win - Qualification

when we win the champions league this year, we are guarenteed a place in next years competition, meaning that we wont have to play any qualification games for finishing third or fourth.

as there are only two places for automatic qualification from the premier league, does this mean that we qualify at chavskis expense and they then have to play qualification games?

???  :nod

I think that might be the case peewee. I Remember there was talk of United having to do the same last year if Arsenal won.

PS . don't get too cocky, we haven't won it yet - always IF, don't tempt fate.  :D

First of all, let's not get ahead of ourselves, we haven't won anything yet. But I thought that after the debacle of us playing TNS, UEFA clarified the rules and said that winning the cup doesn't gain automatic qualification for the following season.

Correction: The winner of the Champions League gets an automatic group stage place.

Not sure what would happen to Chavski.

Well, as much as I hated the Blue Shltt, I think we should relax a bit and just enjoy the final. We don't need to rub more salt in their wounds as we are Liverpool supporter. We should have more class than them But the idea of more rubs is really tempting hehe. Anyway, whatever happen happens.

Avoiding the qualification round would be very important, as those rounds influence too much the preseason plans. Not having those constraints of official games before the league would help Rafa to prepare the start of the league with more specific plans.

For me, one of the reasons we didn't start well this seasons is precisely that.

A Uefa spokesman was on 5 Live yesterday and he said that no matter who wins the final the top 2 teams will have automatic entry and not have to qualify, along with the newly crowned European Champions.

so us, chavski and manure will be automatically through to the Group Stage IF we win....that would be very good for us, some of our players need to rest.
