No, no, no, Dani Alves is not a RW! He is a natural Right back and plays as wing back too because he likes to go forward all of the time. He is a typical Brazilian fullback, but he a good defender, an excellent passer, excellent dribbler and excellent crosser of the ball.

Buying alves to put him on the RW will be a huge and costly mistake! To maximize his strength you need to play him on the right back because what he does is fantastic there.

He plays on the wing at times, too, if I am not mistaken. Sort of like how we use Riise. Hinkel plays right back when this happens.

Although Alves is a full back he has played on the right wing for sevilla on a few occasions just ahead of andreas hinkel (more defensive and less adventurous than alves) who they signed from stuttgart last summer. I think he played right wing against spurs for the second leg of their UEFA cup tie.

Yes he did, its true, but he is better on the right back than playing on the right wing. He is 10 X better!

Press speculation has been increasing over the last week, with respect to LFC interest in Micah Richards.
The latest theory to emerge is that City would be interested in taking Cisse in part exchange.

If we needed Richards (Do we?) this would be a perfect way to realise the best price for Ciise. Young players are often over-valued, creating a part exchange deal also allows plenty of negotiation room to cut a deal.

But Richards, somehow I cannot see this one. Rafa likes fast overlapping Full-backs who are virtually wingers. This would only work if Richards future is seen to be in central defence, long term partner for Agger perhaps.

micah richard would be a fantastic buy.... he is goona a be great in the future ..

loads of potential , between him and alves ... i would prefer to take richards but if benitez thinkin of buying alves and putting him on the wings , that would be fantastics tooo :D  but it seems simao is going to get the right wing

i would love to see richards join us as he will probally go on to lead englands defence for a decade he has that much potential but i would also like to see alves join as he is probally the best fullback in the world at the moment and i see richards as a centre back once his understanding of the role develops
would richards be happy playing second fiddle to carraghar and agger in the centre? im not sure he would

Hey all
My team would be

               agger    carra   arbeloa
(3 center backs would work well it think)

                   mascherano

(WB) aleves      SG      alonso        riise(Wing back)

                   (targetman)kuyt/crouch

                      (pace/Goals)eto/villa

Think we could get them players mabye some back up players from prem for less money but i always think pool play better when we pack the midfield since we are a passing team most of time  :nod

(Eto is fast paced and a pure finisher
(Villa has ok pace enuff for prem but is classs every where else reminds me of Shearer in alot of ways that cant be a bad thing
(aleves what can i say pure wing back wasted as a right back i think same type of player as riise
(and if u sau why arbeloa in defence cos i think he has a really bright future at club and i think since he can play left back why not train him up as a left center back to cover for carra cos he deffo has the pace to do that he just needs a kick up the :censored: and some more exp in prem.
