I'm posting this as a seperate topic, so that it won't get lost for those who log on later.

I spoke to Karen earlier today, she's baring-up, but naturally in her exemplary way is consumed with trying to arrange Phil's funeral including instructing her Manc mate to find the lyrics to YNWA. Her family and friends are around her at this time, as you would expect, helping out.

Karen and Phil had talked about what he would like at his funeral, apart from his wish for a choir to sing YNWA he wanted his friends from the forum; those who could come, to be part of his funeral.

Karen will post some details about the funeral when she has a chance.

She appreciates that not everyone, who wants to come will be able to, but hopefully a few of us can go.

She wanted to know if 'many' were aware of Phil's passing, I told her that the place was truly overwhelmed with grief and the threads were busy with messages of condolense, that we were all thinking of her and her family at this time.

I also thanked her for letting us know on the day of Phil's death, a time that was clearly difficult for her.

I'll give her call in a few days... see how she is getting on.

I dont know if it is appropriate to post this suggestion here - but could the forum have a collection for a wreath from all of us? I am one of a lot of people for which is it is not possible to get to pay my respects and this would be a way of doing this.

I certainly feel a collection is in order, however I would suggest that sending the money to the family who has now lost its bread winner rather than a wreath which will be discarded pretty soon after the funeral would be a better idea.

Can someone sort out a paypal account or something ?

Agreed LeonMc.

Phil is resting in heaven, but Karen has a hard fight against many difficulties now. I've never met Phil, but I feel true friendship towards him. Helping now to Karen for me is a must.

Is the account we've been using so far still opened? if someone confirms that I'll help a bit again.

I just spoke to Karen, she's almost finalised arrangements for Phil's funeral, which is likely to be sometime towards the end of the forthcoming week. Karen will post the details.

I also mentioned the intention of some of us to send her money, which she is fine with. But it would be also a good gesture if we sent a bouquet from the 'Forum'. I'm happy to contribute to this as well. I'll PM the Mods and see what can be arranged, we don't have long.
