Legends from Liverpool's illustrious past including Kenny Dalglish are in action tonight as they roll back the years to face Celtic at Celtic Park in a match to raise funds for charity, at 7.45pm.
The Reds will be led by player-manager Dalglish and the purpose of the game is to raise funds for a charitable cause led by Agnes Johnstone, wife of Celtic legend Jimmy Johnstone, Celtic FC's own charity and Kenny's wife Marina's breast cancer charity.

Dalglish is looking forward to returning to his Glasgow roots and believes a good night's entertainment is assured.

"When you walk into Celtic Park even when it's empty you just want to get out there and play and we are taking a big squad up, most of the team that played at Anfield in the game for Marina's breast cancer charity on May 1st", Dalglish told Liverpoolfc.tv.

"We've got some slightly younger players who are going to have a game for us like Steve McManaman, Gary McAllister, Michael Thomas and Mark Walters so we've brought a few new faces in but there's still a few old faces in there as well! Celtic have the likes of Frank McAvennie, Andy Walker and Peter Grant, the West Ham assistant manager.

"Everybody is really looking forward to it and if it's as enjoyable as it was at Anfield on May 1st then it's a night to look forward to. We are aiming to raise a lot of money for Wee Jimmy Johnstone's charity, the Celtic charity and Marina's breast cancer charity.

"There has always been a special affinity between Liverpool and Celtic which started back in the days of Shanks and Jock Stein. They came from similar backgrounds in a mining village. I suppose myself coming here from Celtic maybe carried that on as well.

"There's been a great relationship between both sets of fans. I remember our first game after Hillsborough was against Celtic at Celtic Park and there were 60,000 fans there and both sets singing 'You'll Never Walk Alone'. The tarmac around the pitch was covered in supporters banners and it was fantastic. It was a great occasion for everybody.

"It will be great to go back to Celtic and hopefully we can continue our good run of played one and won one!"

The match kicks-off at 7.45pm tonight and is being shown live on Channel 5.
