It was a shame that Morientes didn't work out.

Rafa

Best- Mascherano.Took a huge risk as he had done nothing at the Hammers. He is king.

Worst-Pellegrino. Don't think I have ever seen anyone that bad.

Rafa's best buy probably was Torres. At the time it was a bit of a gamble, given the money.

Morientes probably was the worst given the money involved.

I think Reina has to be up there as one of Rafa's best signings. We struggled for stability between the sticks for years, and suddenly we've got a very safe pair of hands at our disposal. Mascherano too was a very good piece of business - it's scary to think that the lad probably hasn't peaked yet.

His worst signing was probably Zenden for me. He just never looked like a Liverpool player. Paletta runs him a close second - he made Traore look like Paolo Maldini.

Kenny bought............ David Speedie....   oh jeez I just reminded myself. Final proof that Kenny had flipped.

Coventry for 675,000 wasted quid.

Houliers best?? well sammy has ben a great servant at the club but the best signing he made was McAllister. Its a pity he came to us so late in his career for what te club achieved during the short time he was with us speaks for itself. The closest we have been to winning the EPL for a long time.

Surely Benitez's best signing has been Torres??  I don't think there is any question of that.

Up until we signed Torres I would have said Reina was his best buy.

Kenny - Best Barnes, worst Carter
Souness - best (nobody), worst Mark Walters
Evans - best (can't think of anyone), worst Collymore
Houllier - best Hypia, worst Cisse/Diouf (could have picked about 20 , really think he was a sh!te manager)

Benitez - best Reina (lot cheaper than Torres and have already got a few years out of him), worst Morientes - expensive and :censored: is always a bad combo.

Most of our best players over the last decade have actually come through LFC - Fowler, mcmanamann, owen, Gerrard, Redknapp(well bought very young), if it wasn't for them then most of the above managers would be rated less than they are.

Stan Collymore needed effective man-management and Evans was too weak able to provide it.  He was a gifted striker though.

Anelka had the same issues.

Agger? Alonso?

*Tongue In Cheek* Crouch?

All the fuss you get from some about Crouch, you'd think he would have been cited (before Torres arrived)
