The News of the world has today published that we ahve agreed a 130m pound deal to have them as our kit suppliers from next season. I know we had a topic a while back on this but from what i see this gives rafa more money to spend. Or do you think that it will all go to the funding of the new stadium?

Lets hope we don't blow this money like we did with the 20m from granada.

Joaquin, Owen and Woodgate.

45millionish....

Complete squad, sell Sissy and Traore then put the rest towards the stadium.

I think the money is far more likely to go towards Anfield II. I can see it now "Liverpool beat Everton 16-0 at Anfield II: The Adidas Stadium". Maybe it could now stand for All Day I Dream About Stevie! :D

I have heard that the stadium issue is pretty much solved by now. I have also heard that we are bringing in 4 quality players in january. It is going to be a hectic month and the new signings will improve our team and squad massively. I can now see liverpool building a team stronger than all the teams in the world and winning loads of throphies. The platform is in place and the work being done with the senior team and also in the academy i can see a long period of liverpool dominance both domestically and in europe. Happy new year lads.

i think the spiralling construction costs will have kicked the new stadium into touch myself. unless the council or government or someone else helps out i cant see liverpool taking the thing on and the council look reluctant to put their hands in their pockets unless we share with the other crowd.
even when you get estimates of say 150m, by the time these things are built you can almost add a third on.
look at wembley, the aussie firm building that have got losses of 90m now and its still rising.
i`d keep an eye on arsenal, when they commisioned this stadium they were flying high and the future looked rosy, their fans are already grumbling and i bet if they end up losing henry to barca they`ll struggle to fill highbury never mind ashburton grove.

A deal like this will cover a number of years and will be spread over the years of the deal. Nobody will give you the whole sum smack up-front, unless that person owns "privatised" assets of the former USSR and got these "privatised" state-assets at dirt cheap prices during the Yeltsin years...

sounds like a good deal....will secure our football teams for the forseeable finacial future and probably fund the new stadium.  This will leave our Champions league money to be freed up for players.

It doesn't seem to me that Rafa needs tens of millions to spend on players, as he doesn't splash out on superstars.  He doesn't mind spending £5-10m on the right player though.

Perhaps he could get two or three players in January (in addition to Kromkamp), maybe a centre-back and a right winger...plus one.  Kewell's return to form is a big bonus.
:)

Why would Adidas pay 130 million when they already own Reebok?  :D
