Okay first of all, I would start with a team capable of playing a quality game against Newcastle at Anfield:

                   Reina

Finnan  Carragher  Hyypia  Riise

Gerrard  Alonso  Sissoko  Kewell

           Garcia  Crouch

Then 2 days later the game against the Bluesh!tes at the landfill, we should play a team capable of handling rough tactics as it is expected to be a rough and untidy game anyways.

                    Reina

Finnan  Carragher  Hyypia  Warnock

Gerrard  Sissoko  Hamann  Riise

            Cisse  Morientes

Then the game against West Brom at home, which is supposedly the easiest game out of our Christmas schedule, we should give rest to some key players in order to perform to the maximum 2 days later at Bolton:

                Reina

Josemi  Carragher  Hyypia  Traore

Garcia  Alonso  Hamann  Kewell

          Crouch  Pongolle

Then the away game at Bolton, potentially the most tricky Christmas fixture:

                Reina

Finnan  Carragher  Hyypia  Warnock

Gerrard  Sissoko  Hamann  Riise

            Cisse  Morientes

I'd play hamman against newcastle instead of alonso as they'll be up for a scrap.

This isn't the time to be tinkering with the squad. Sissoko is suspended, so it would be best to play Hamman and Alonso in the center and Gerrard on the flank

some of my best ever football memories are the 2 classic 4-3s against newcastle. was at university for both., sitting ina  bar, sorrounded by geordies, and they all brought me drinks after the game. a lot of fans i dont get on with during matches (milan and everton fans surrounding me after the champs league final and a fight against the mancs after teh carling cup a few years back) but geordies are just class, and i wont ehar a word against them afetr being treated so well in the past.

still hope we stuff them tho but will be interested to see what type of welcome owen gets coming back to anfield

Militia Rusher..

I think you underestimate Xabi's physical game, this season he has been one of our most physical players.. look at him against Sao Paolo for example.

I also think its important he plays everygame, perhaps with the visit to west brom an exception..

Boumsong and Bramble are slow? there awful and are probably the worst centre back pairing in the league, but slow! you have obviously never seen them play.

Yes me too, there are too many memories e.g. the FA Cup final and the worthington cup final vs manure. the fans and i hope there are not any who boo will be ashamed of themselves. It wouldn't surprise me if when the teams are waiting to kick off "one michael owen there's only one michael owen" gets sang like it did with danny murphy last season when he came back with charlton but with super danny murphy.
