Autographs banned in the players lounge - Bloody disgrace

I am often fortunate enough to get lounge passes for our home games. The pompey game was the first time I've been in there though for a month or so. Upon walking in there on saturday there were two signs on the walls on either side of the lounge that basically stated autographes and photographes were now banned and players should be left alone with their families.

Now, I don't know about you guys but I have to say I think this is a bloody disgrace. Fans don't ask for much in return for all they give to football clubs, a scribble on a piece of paper usually sends them away over the moon. You should see the young kids faces in the lounge when their heroes pose for a photo with them or sign a programme. I'm not one for autographes myself but I would have liked to think I could maybe take my daughter in with me one day when she's a little older to get a shirt or a ball done, it's outrageous.

Is this yet another example of players losing touch with reality and forgetting who it is exactly that pay their huge wages?

What do you think guys? Am I expecting too much?

Yes and no. I can understand your frustration but by the same token I can understand players wanting a bit of time with their families and friends after a game. You can bet a pound to a penny on that some d!ckhead has spoiled it for everyone by being over zealous in his hunt for photos and autographs.

Bigmick your probably right about the d@ckheads who spoil things but surely the club has taken things abit too far with this one.

Players might want to spend time with there families after a match...thats fair enough.

But imo they have a duty to the fans, surely for half hour after the game they can pose for photos and sign autographs, they will have the whole rest of the night to be with their families or friends.

No you're not, if the players don't want to do their basic obligation to the fans by doing this, what on earth is the point of giving you access to the players lounge!?

Mind you, I don't think it is the players, perhaps it is the club who would rather make money off the autographs for revenue rather than see people make money out of them.Just a thought.

Most of the Liverpool players do spend part of their day signing autographs and getting photos taken, when they arrive and leave the ground.
They deserve some relaxation time after the match so I can see why this has been introduced.
But I'm sure most of the players would still oblige whatever the rule, as long as the person wasnt being too obtrusive.
