Crouch ,has done nothing to impress me, although to be fair his hamstring injury does suggest the lad is trying his best to be the kind of stirker we are used to.  :D

You mean Chris Waddle, the "Marseille Dribbler" who used to play for Newcastle, Spurs and Marseille?

His skills were excellently suited to the French league and they loved him at Marseille. Only Graham "Turnip" Taylor did not love him at all when he was the England manager because he does not track back and he does try fancy stuff which a stiffie like Taylor really dislikes. Taylor likes people like Geoff Thomas of Crystal Palace who was more of an athlete then a football player.

Crouch does walk like Waddle...

I think he means Alan Waddle , a lanky geordie , played a couple of games for us in the early 70's .

Early 70s perhaps too long for me...I came in mid 70s. But I have read of some legends like Ian St. John who was before my time of becoming a fan.

I'd read in the Telegraph's Alan Hansen all time greats, there is a section on Kenny Dalglish which said that Shankly actually had scouts who dod not recommend the chance to sign-up a young Scot (Rangers fan) named Kenny Dalglish before he joined Celtic. He could have joined us earlier for nought!

He's tall, he's red, his feet stick out the bed, Peter Crouch, Peter Crouch.

I can proudly say my mate started that in Kaunas.
