Quote (Lee J @ July 21 2005,12:26)
if he balances the ball on top of his head, no one will get it. he could just head towards goal and score!!

lol

I wonder if the FA will let him wear a slightly cupped hat?

Or at least a concave hairdo :D

LIVERPOOL new boy Peter Crouch will miss the start of the Premiership campaign through suspension after being sent-off for Southampton at the end of last season.

The £7 million signing was red carded in the Saints' penultimate game of the season at Crystal Palace and collected a three match ban.

He missed the final game of the last campaign against Manchester United but must serve the final two matches of his ban at the start of the coming season.

It means Crouch won't be available for the opening fixtures against Middlesbrough and Sunderland.

And because of commitments in Europe, Crouch is likely to have to wait until September 10 to make his league debut for his new club away at Tottenham

But Crouch should be eligible for the Champions League clash against FKB Kaunas in Lithuania next week - if his signing is registered with UEFA before midnight tonight.

My mate has already got his name on his shirt!...they just about managed to get his full name on it?..."DONKEY"! He has a lot to do to convince me that he will make it in an LFC shirt?.   :(

Then we'll have to score the conventional way.  :D

I'm sure the opposing player will be sent off.

Talk about taking one for the team!

Well, after seeing Crouch play for us against Olympiacos, I have to say he looks promising ! I was one of those who was very sceptical about his signing and will admit that I didn't think he was Liverpool material, however I am now prepared to sit back and see how he develops.

He displayed a good touch the other night as well as obviously winning a couple of flick-ons which I am just yearning to see Djib sprint onto before hammering home. However the most impressive thing, in my opinion, was something very minor but which says to me that he will score quite a few goals and that was watching him get into the box when we were attacking and genuinely attacking the cross. There were numerous occasions where he was following up shot's, or simply positioning himself to attack the 6 yard box which is something none of our other strikers do. Morientes, Cisse and Baros all prefer to drop off to the edge of the box rather than attack the cross/shot. To me that say's that he has a touch of the poacher in him which is something we have been sorely missing and I think he will score a few goals that way and open up spcae for the other strikers who seem to want to drop deep.
