Very pleased as Djimi has performed really well under Rafa Benitez and also winning a CL medal along the way. As for Didi, we already knew he was a class player and he confirmed it again.

Obviously happy didi has signed on, but he said he would weeks ago so no surprise there :)

As for Traore, good improvement this season, and while I'd keep him next season to see if he improves further, I'm surprised he has been given a long term deal.  Rafa must rate him though.  My main worry is that Rafa is gonna use him as centre back cover this season, we have not made any solid approaches for centre backs yet, and I just don't trust Traore in the centre when he plays there.  Only time will tell

Not a traore fan I'm afraid, never gives me confidence when he plays, at times makes awful mistakes and then another times makes fantastic long reach last ditch tackles, is there nobody else out there available thats a bit more consistent?

I think the four years for Djimi is good business sense, he is still young and if he continues to improve but we say continue with success which of course equals more money, then we would probably be looking at WORLD CLASS centre back/s, and if Djimi is surplus to requirements, he will still be under contract and we will be able to get some money and if he improves slightly from what he is now, there will be plenty of takers.

Amazing season for Traore considering how close the deal was for him to go to Everton and he ends up with CL medal instead.
While he made massive improvement under Rafa, and his other main strength is his verstatility which is something that Rafa seems to hold in high regard i still would like to see a quality  central defender come in

Got to agree with dosserboy on this one.

Traore is still, after his improvement this season, not confident on the ball and his passing ability seems to be very limited.
I see him as the weak link in our defence and am sure he will be exposed by other teams, particulary at set pieces, where his ability to read the game is also suspect.

However, Didi is still an asset to the team and although he looks to have lost a bit of pace. I was under the impression that he wanted to finish his career in Germany, so lets hope he can finish this season on a premiership winning high!
