The best strike IMO is one that some people may have forgotten, the one didi smashed in against portsmouth in Houllier's last season, the ball was chipped in from the wing along the outside of the edge of the box and Didi hit it on the volley right into the roof of the net. Should have been goal of the season IMO.

Rest assured if it was Rooney or Lampard or one of the so-called superstars of the prem, then it would have got a lot more recognition.

Anyone else remember it??

Apart from that man of the moment ste gerrard against Boro, probably one of the best goals ive ever seen....another i love was owens hat trick goal against Newcastle, skinned 2 and chipped it in the top bin.....And i know this was in the evans ere but when ever anyone discusses the best goals ever, y doesnt Mcmanamans against celtic evr get a mention...It was a wonder goal in every sense of the word.

Gerrards against Pompey when he fired the freekick 75 mph,or the Boro one from the half way line. and for Hou it would probablly be Gary Macs against Alaves in the uefa cup final on the free kick

The one I really remember was against manure and it was that riise scorcher of a free kick. I think it was his first season with us and owen had already put us 1 - 0 up with a great curling strike. We got a freekick and hamann knocked it to riise who smacked it and it smashed the bar and went in. For some reason that goal really sticks in my head.

I remember that one very well, was a stunning goal. You are right if Rooney does it his value goes up 5m. Since it's Hamann who is German and doesn't play for manchester or arsenal, it doesn't get the same recognition outside of our club.

this dnt count but john barnes scored a mad one against arsenal.. cnt remember wat season...

a corner came in at him... he was stood on penalty spot... he vollied the ball into the goal wiv a "cruyff turn"
