Posted: Wed Apr 20, 2005 12:14 pmAs I understand it UEFA grant each country's FA a set number of places. In England's case we are granted two automatic spots and two qualifying spots. So it would be up to the FA to decide who goes through automatically. As the boss is a lifelong Liverpool fan I think we can rest easy...

I thought UEFA said that the Winners of the previous years CL would have to be able to defend their trophy, so would that not mean that, if we won, we would get one of the automatic places? Leaving the Scum and @rseholes to fight it out in the qualifying round?

It seems obvious to me that the winners of the CL should automatically qualify, but imagine the moaning from Wenger or Ferguson if we got 'their' automatic spot...well I reckon that's all the motivation any Liverpool player needs now!

we're allowed four teams to enter, so the way i see it if we win it and finish 5th (with everton 4th), 1st & 2nd & 3rd enter the competition with us also (as winners) and Everton who finished in the all important 4th place can go fk off back to Woodison with their tails between their legs.
