Yes they are a good team, Spanish teams generally are but if theres one thing Rafa knows how to beat its Spanish teams of course. He did after all win the league 2 years running there. Im sure all the usual suspects will start: Carra, Hyypia, Stevie, Alonso but im also hoping tjhat Sissoko start ahead of Hamman. Hes a very physical player and in La Liga he can really stamp his presence in midfield. Its gonna be a hard game and every one is going to have to be on top form but im 100% sure we have the players and metality to get the 3 points tonight. I would like to see Cisse and Crouch both start along side each other. I think they have the potential for a good partnership this season. Good luck lads. I knwo youll do us proud. !!!!!!!!

i am so exited, i am gonna go to sleep soon becuase i have to wake up for a 4:30 kickoff here is Australia.
I wanna see Crouch get a goal, i cant wait to to see if we can give him some good deliveries. Playing Tottenham, Crouch tried to get on the end of crosses but they were never really high enough was always fouling to get on the end of them.
I agree that it would be good to see Gerrad to play off Crouch up front and Cisse on as a sub if needed in the second half.

I want to see a high scoring game, our strikers really need some confidence...
But i guess you never know what you are getting with Liverpool, could be 3-1 or 0-0

@zara

thanks zara, but can't see yours too  :( , but never mind

btw, some good things for tonight's match:

# Liverpool have won their last three European away matches and are unbeaten in their last six European away matches.
# In the Champions League, Liverpool are now unbeaten in their last eight matches
# Fernando Morientes will probably make his Champions League debut for Liverpool and he is their most experienced player in the competition having played 70 matches.
# Morientes has also scored 26 Champions League goals, more than any other player in the Liverpool squad and good enough for eighth place in the all-time Champions League table.
# Liverpool need to score three goals to record 450 in European competition.

..umm Morientes is injured Annie.. but we will do well, feels sure of that. We are solid, just need to score.

silly me, of course he still won't be able to perform tonite since it hasn't reached the presumed at least ten days of recovery yet since his injury

First of all, despite injuries and whatever to Betis, I don't think they'll be pushovers.

Despite our reasonably good defence, they no doubt have the skill, movement and pace in the final third to cause us BIG problems if we're not on song. Despite the general consensus that Spanish teams lack fight, I think Villareal proved against the blueshite that they simply dont need to fight all game but can undo most half decent sides with a certain amount of panache particularly on the counter attack.

Hopefully we'll stick to our usual reasonably successful away tactics and try to suffocate the opposition while playing them at their own game and hitting them on the break. We at least have the skill and pace (yes pace) moreso than poor old Everton did against the Spaniards.

Anyway, aside from the fact that 3points is pretty much a must in most of the other games in the group (besides the ones against Chelsea) in order to not go down to the last game again needing a win. We NEED to win to boost the confidence ahead of a tricky Premiership game against ManUre on Sunday.

This quote from supersub.. the original Fairclough :D .. really sums up what it means ..

"Tonight the European champions must step on to the big stage and show Europe the crown sits comfortably and isn't too heavy. "

Here here.. come on Benitez's reds.. lets show'em
