The only thing is, Barton would have to settle for a place on the bench.

If the price is right, i'd say snap him up.

Agree with you.  :)

benitez knows what he's doing. during his first season at valencia he booted out mendieta, kily gonzalez and salva and they won the league.

Agreed. Looking at Boro, a lot of people should know how good Mendieta is and I still admire him and had said sometime back that I wished Houllier took him up on loan when he was available. Mendieta was such an influential captain in Valencia's progress to the CL finals yet they offloaded him and Valencia won the league.

Benithez has shown that he is not afraid to make bold and tough decisions and carry on with his vision.

As for Barton, I don't really know how good he is as he goes on without getting noticed, much like Ronnie Whelan - one of our best ever defensive midfielder, and perhaps would only be really noticed by City fans.

Barton is a very good player and everytime i've seen him play he's reminded me of Gerrard. I don't think he has enough quality at the moment to get into our first team on a regular basis but would be an excellent back and wouldn't let anyone down.

i didn't study in-depth about this fellow, joey barton but from the transfer news i know that he can be a impact from every team include us because he's still young and got much more space to push in hard work....so why not we get him for trial.
