Would love it if we signed him, definetly would give us some balance in midfield and a very very good player on the ball.

Loan would be really good, if he turns out to be great, then we can get him on free in the summer

He is different and when you get someone on loan its a no lose situation in my eyes. The player is on loan for 6 months with a view to a contract so he will be out to impress he also has a small thing called the world cup to look at going to and Mascherano has one of his best buds at the club and could well make him decide to stay at the club.

This guy is a player, no question. He will likely as not come on loan for the rest of the season and we will get him for a free in the summer.

He is at the right age, and also may help settle Masch down a bit as he is a close friend.

Would be a great signing for us on loan. AM are interested in Doss then it absolutely makes sense. Sounds like Rafa is looking to do his business early in January.

Maxi, Van Nistelrooy and Arda Turan in january, I'd be happy with that :)

anyone see mash's reaction!?

In that same order those were my 2 thoughts! Mashc looks to have flipped out like e does!!

On Wikipedia MR has scored around a goal every 4 games for the last 5 yrs which imo is a good return for a winger and he sounds like he'd add qualioty in wide ares.

imo just what we need.

maxi has not played for atletico for a while now, hence why he is not in the squad and why they want him off the wage bill.hopefully he is looking for a new challenge and will join us and rediscover his form while injecting some life into our team.

all i know is that our club has been working hard over xmas and had lots of meeting on days they would have loved to be at home.
Van Nistelrooy fit in well.

From Guilliem Balague's website:

Quite a few readers have been in touch asking for an update on the media reports linking Maxi Rodriguez with a move to Anfield...

UPDATE: In the last few hours sources at Atletico Madrid have revealed that Maxi Rodriguez is on the verge of a move to another club and we believe that club to be Boca Juniors. The Argentine midfielder is eager to catch the eye of Diego Maradona, his national coach, ahead of this summer`s world cup and a return to his native Argentina now appears likely. The player was left out of the Atletico Madrid squad this evening and sources in Madrid suggest that a move to Anfield has now been ruled out.
