yeah but on the other hand I do actually agree with them that the money to re-sign players should come out of the transfer budget, I don't have an issue with that but then they could have lied to Rafa about that too guaranteeing him that it wouldn't.

At the end of the day it's their club and I guess they can do whatever they want with it, as depressing as that is.

The problem is they told Rafa he can buy players if he sold players.

Ah well..... lets work with what we got, get some of those youngsters get a chance.

What and this hasn't been happening to all other clubs up and down the country, and the world for that matter, let alone other normal companies having budgets slashed left right and centre. Rafa needs to get real and if money is tight he should have shopped a bit wiser.

Last time Rafa reached 80+ points he finished the next season limply with just 68 points and held off the goners only on GD.

It's easy to blame Parry, the owners, the ref etc, but he showed again his tactical limitations on Sunday. No sub until too late to make a difference, going with Babel over Benayoun and the bench was rather wishy washy. And he has had money to spend, £37.5m on two players even if a £7m debt was written off in the Johnson robbery.

Last three big signings have been Keane (flop), Johnson (overpriced) and Aquilani (overpriced injury merchant). Maybe someone blocking those signings would have been a good thing, but I'm sure it's much easier to blame the owners for Rafa's poor trading in the transfer market. I'd rather the £30m had been spent on a quality LWF, and maybe taken a gamble on Owen to bolster our bench.

If you don't have enough cash to throw it about, spend without a care, then you spend wisely. Has Rafa? I'd be very surprised if ANY right-back proved worth £17.5m let alone Johnson. I hope Aquilani gets fit and turns us into title contenders, I'm not overly optimistic given his injury history.

What will happen next season? We may end up selling Mascherano, Agger and Aquilani while signing Turner of Hull and Jenas of spudz for silly money. I'm sure the owners aren't digging deep and funding Rafa's extravagance, probably don't know enough to comment on his activity either, but I doubt I'm the only one who is worried by our signings for the second year running. Last season it was Dossena and Keane the flops, Riera the ok signing and this season the outgoers are better than the incoming (Arbeloa & Alonso >>>>> Johnson & Aquilani)

In fact HTF is it the owners fault that they gave Rafa £35m last summer that he wasted on Keane, Dross and Riera* and this season he gets £37.5m which he's spent on Johnson** and Aquilani?

*Riera not necessarily a bad signing, but not a great signing either
**£7m may have been a debt written off, but it's £7m that was owed us and stays in their bank not our's.

Owzat - I normally enjoy your informative stuff so I will just put this post down to you having a bad day. Let's give Aquilani a chance who if we can keep fit will simply make Xabi a distant memory. Arbeloa or Johnson? Did Arbeloa ever venture into the penalty area let alone win a penalty.

Rafa has spent £80m net over 5 years - £16m a year - I think he could make meaningful gains on many of his purchases and especially Torres. just think your being a bit harsh. Guess your nearly as p.ssed off as I am then.

Rafa tactics - yes you have a good point! Give you that one.

From what I been reading of your posts last few days you really seem to have a dislike for Rafa ?
I meen its up to you of course just is it true do you dislike him ?
I can't see reasoning behind it because he has always done his best for our club. His job hasn't been easy with the owners we have I feel under different owners Rafa might have already got us a league title.

hmm would we make money on Eggnog or Dossena, we certainly didn't make too much on Keane did we.  :p  :D
We might make a bit on Voronin and Degan but only because they were freebies although they have of course cost plenty of wages.

I'm not Rafa's biggest fan that is true, but I enjoyed the end of last season when we played good football but it's the whinging and whining t the press that annoys me about him, it's just not dignified or classy for a Liverpool manage to be doing that. Also the :censored: like starting with Babel and waiting till the 60th minute before subbing him really annoys me. If someone start a game sh1t they almost always finish the game sh1t as well so why not haul them off the pitch immediately, why wait until it's too late?

Yeah no problems no rule saying you have to love him like a father or nothing I respect your views.I to at points have questioned some of his choices in matchs. But you can't help get feeling he is trying to run up a hill atm with every thing that goes on behind closed doors at our club.Lets face it alot of stress going on and its been like that for a while.Look At gerard houllier he ended up having heart problems.

I just think Rafa is doing best he can with what he has and we all need to support him till the bitter end if it comes to that.I just feel sorry for him atm having to deal with two owners who really don't care about any thing more then making money.

We will sell Mascha next Summer - and most of the money will be used to pay off loans.

Unfortunately, this will be the situation for a while.

Its not normal for the owners to lie to the fans and manager.

I agree it's a great article and very well put together but who's to say that Rafa doesn't have 1 or maybe 2 transfers going ahead that we will only learn of at the 11 hour just like Aquilani??
