Tonight's game against Liverpool at Turf Moor looks to have been called off due to parts of the pitch being waterlogged.

Radio Lancashire are reporting that the groundsman had told their reporter Ian Chisnell that the match has been called off.

Sky Sports have also confirmed this news, with their source the referee.

The match referee, Mark Clattenburg decided to delay his decision to 19:15 which would be his final decision, if the match went ahead, it would have been delayed to 20:00. However he made his decision at 19:00

The covers were taken off the pitch at 18:00 but they couldn't prevent the heavy downpours that have fell over Burnley over the past few days from making the pitch an unplayable surface.

It was right decision to call off because it is very dangerous to play in those muddy pitch and yes, it is shame that we won't be playing tonight. And there is nothing they could do about it.

Full credits to Burnley Groundsmen for trying their hard as could they can. It is very tiring job for all day for them to do their job all day.

All it means is there is now time for some new injuries, Gerrard will break his leg, Carra will get a terrible dose of malaria and Hyypia will get bitten by a pelican

Disappointed that no one in here has mentioned the FANS who are the last to know.

When you finish work early at your own expense , travel to within 50 yds of the ground only to find out it's off it's not the greatest feeling ???

SKY tried they say, the ref tried , but whats the problem with doing an inspection say 4 hours prior to Kick off ? What makes these people believe a pitch will be better at night at 7.45Pm than it is at say 4PM ?

The players at risk of injury is a valid reason but what about the fans , who seriously gives a stuff about the fans ?
