Seems that Warnock is keen to take Mellor to Sheffield Utd. Apparently the bid is £500,000 which seems like a fair price. Under normal circumstances I reckon we would be packing his stuff for him but with the injury crisis I imagine they will resist until January now  :glare:

He hasn't really been given an extended run in the side
The times he's started in the past - predominently Pre - RAFA Revolution
Coupled with the fact we aint got many other options means we've got give the lad a chance - see if he can do some damage with some decent supply lines

Not wanting to open a can of worms - you could have Owen or Raul up front - but if your not getting the service - you aint gonna score

point I'm makin - I think we are starting to get the supply right now (thanks to Rafa & his buys)

Or let's not
Let's sell him for a £1m and have no options ???

Mellor had enough chances when he had a run in the side 2 seasons ago and thats his problem, he isn't clinical enough and squanders chances!

He isn't good enough, it's not cos he's young and needs time cos he 22 now.

500k? Does he need a lift there? Games all about opinions and in my humble one, he's not and never will be good enough. Take what we can get and move on. Wonder what the West Ham fans would say if they bid 500k for him. ???

They wouldn't be bothered cos he couldn't even get in the West Ham side  :p

Hmmmmm, er that's what I meant Paul. The point (and I must confess I didn't make it very well at all) was that as he couldn't even get a game for them I'm sure they would be crying in their beer if Pardew undertook to have him back in any capacity whatsoever, never mind pay a fee for him. :)

still think he can do a job for us
we've got a new look midfield that had more creativity
if he gets a run over the next month - and still can't do the business - then fair do's
but your still using past performances which had a different midfield / wingers - and West Ham - well - what sort of service was he lookin at their before he started warming the subs bench

Just give the lad one more chance is all I'm saying
