Whats view of Henchoz leaving. Been a great servant for the club but just doesnt seem to fit into the boss plans. I rather seem him stay as back up as heart is in right place

LFCTV
Rafael Benitez has given his clearest indication yet that Stephane Henchoz's future may lie away from Anfield after admitting his first choice centre back pairing is Sami Hyypia and Jamie Carragher.
Benitez said it will be difficult for Henchoz to force his way into his plans unless there is a number of injuries, and added his future could be away from Anfield when the transfer window reopens in January.

Benitez said: "I'm not sure about Stephane Henchoz's future at this moment. We have two months until the January transfer window and then we will see.

"He could play some games but at this moment it is very difficult for him because Carragher and Hyypia are playing very well together

Half of arguably the best central defensive partnership in Europe four years ago.

Good servant to the club but everybody's time has to be up some day.  Rafa obviously has other plans which don't include Henchoz.

Speaking of which, Sami had better start watching his back as well.

I am pretty sure that Salif Diao's heart is also in the correct position, but time for both to be wished bon voyage.

He should go, great guy and he's done well for the team over his Anfield career but he is slow now.

Henchoz kept us alive in the 2001 cup final when he thought he was playing in goal.

The way his cheeks flush when he is knackered reminds me more of George Best! :D

He has always been a bit one paced and prone to the odd mistake. Also i think we need a more sklilful defender to compliment Hyppia, who is filling the "English Central Defender" role..

Maybe we should try and tempt Glen Hysenn out of retirement.

Henchoz's contract is up in June and he's admitted publicly today he will probably leave in January.

We should have sold Hyypia to Barcelona in the summer.
Looks like good business lost now. :(
