Superstitious...... - Why change squad numbers ?

According to Liverpoolfc.tv, Antonio Nunez has requested a change of squad number at Anfield and will now wear number 18 this season.

Nunez was initially allocated the number 12 shirt but the Premier League have agreed to the change and he will take over John Arne Riise's old shirt with immediate effect.

What I want to know is what difference does it make, and is there some reason behind the requested change ?

Isn't 12 traditionally a Keepers number? ???

Maybe its been free'd up for a reason
(apart from the fact that Nunez didn't want it)

or maybe i should stop watching x-files

Maybe it is for signing a new goalie, I hope so, but apparently Nunez requested the change.

Saya dari Indonesia.

In some societies in Indonesia, we have a believe that 9 (1+8 and is a highest number) can give you maximum positive fate.

He took riise's number 18. Maybe he felt it had something to do with the fact he got injured 5 mins after arriving. Bad karma

Cuddicini from Chelski, the best Premeirship goalkeeper of the last four years.

I would't bet against seein Cuddicini with us he won't be happy to sit on the bench having been the best keeper in England last year.

Top keeper,

And can't imagine he's too happy at being behind Cech(sp.)  in the pecking order, how much to get him to Anfield?

I reckon only around £5m, as Chelski will be happy to have him off the wage bill. We could recoup half that on Dudek to some Dutch team, so good business at around two and a half mill.

the Gaffa would be tempted,

Leon. i think you missed you calling as a director of football somewhere  :)

I suppose that would have to be a january deal though, only 4 days of transfer window left.

hope there a few irons in other fires in the meantime   :grinning:

I think he's just a little superstitious.  Notice it says that Nunez requested the number change not Rafa?

Maybe he wanted the number on his back to correspond with the number of goals he reckons he'll score this season ?

More like the number of games he will play. Looks like a dud to me. Bring back Jason Macateer, that what I say. No, sorry bad joke. I am sure if RAFA thinks he is ok, then let's roll. :;): :;):
