I just think he offers more in front of goal than solanke, Ings and Origi etc. He is an intelligent player and know where the goal is. Nearly chipped the keeper as well.

The other player i had my eye on today is Ryan Kent. Scored a cracker and not afraid of taking players on and beating them.

You can see the quality of keita though, just the way he strolled around oozes quality. You sense he will be a big player for us this season.

Yep, he looks born to play Klopp-ball, imagine how good he is going to be when he is surrounded by players like Mo, Sadio, Bobby, VVD etc

He never got out of second gear mate. Oozes quality. Has an Aura about him. Very intelligent and a good reader of the game, with great close control. He's in the Salah and Stevie G bracket in terms of quality.

Fabinho looked good as well. First game, bit rusty, but it will take a few games for these boys to get up to speed, sharpness and fitness, of Klopps heavy metal football style etc.

If we can also get the extra couple of key players we need, next season should be very exciting.

A lot also depends on who Klopp is sending out on loan also next season.

Keita is in a good nick. Only behind Milner and Lallana in the first day fitness tests. Fabinho was struggling in the fitness tests so has a lot of work to do over pre-season.

The four games in the UK are mainly fitness exercises but it's important for fringe players to make an impact to get more game time later on in pre-season. Think Wilson will come out on top between him Kent and Ojo.

This kid Harry Wilson is doing everything right, scoring for Hull, scoring for Wales, and now when he gets a chance at Liverpool.

His finishes at Chester looked very composed so hes just got to keep going, hes 21 now so the right time to break through and make it impossible for Klopp to leave him out.

Possible one more loan but I would suggest at another Premiership team if they can make it happen, see how he stands up in the League we are in.

LFC team news update for Tranmere clash

Adam Lallana returns to the Liverpool squad for tonight's pre-season friendly with Tranmere Rovers but Virgil van Dijk and Georginio Wijnaldum will not be involved.

After kicking off their summer schedule with a 7-0 win at Chester FC on Saturday, the Reds are back in action at Prenton Park at 7.30pm BST – and you can watch the whole match live on LFCTV and LFCTV GO.

Lallana is available for the short trip after sitting out the weekend’s game to do extra sessions at Melwood having missed a few days of the opening week of training with illness.

This match comes too soon for Van Dijk and Wijnaldum, however, who only returned to pre-season training on Sunday morning due to international commitments with the Netherlands at the end of last term.

The Dutch pair will benefit from further sessions at Melwood and then be in consideration for Saturday’s friendly with Bury, while Joel Matip is also on course to feature in the same fixture as he builds up fitness after injury.

Danny Ings, who was on target against Chester, is a doubt for the clash with Tranmere due to severe blisters.

Academy goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher will be part of the squad.

If we wanted to we could play the same 11s as we did on Saturday with Lallana coming in for Ings. Don’t think anyone else will come in although the teams are likely to be mixed up.

Clyne     Gomez     Phillips     Moreno

            Fabinho     Woodburn

       Wilson     Solanke     Jones

                           Ward

Camacho     Phillips     Klavan     Robertson

                     Keita     Milner

                Ojo     Lallana     Kent

I'd like to see Ward get more game time, if he is going to be our number 1 next season you want him to feel as comfortable as possible between the sticks. The more time he spends out on the pitch the less nervous he should be.
At the moment whenever he is playing he is probably thinking 'OMG I am in goal for LFC', we need to get him to a point where he thinks 'meh, another day at the office'.
Unlike outfield players (who you want fired up and 'at it') you want your keeper to be calm and relaxed, nervous keepers make rash decisions, they flap at things etc. If Ward is to be our number 1 we need to make sure he feels at home in the starting XI.

Team sheet is in and it's Karius in the net from the start, and Ward hasn't even been named on the bench.

Can't see how Ward is good enough to be our first choice all of a sudden if Klopp has consistently picked Migs and Karius ahead of him. He's the same age as Karius too. Ward will probably get 90 mins against Blackburn on Thursday. TBH he looks overweight so staying behind at Melwood and doing a double session might be the best thing for him.
