I dont speak Portugese but I clearly made out "loco"  which means crazy, and "puta" which means bi'tch or cu'nt. So he was basically calling him a crazy cu'nt, which is of course what he was.
Maybe holgate knew he was in for a yellow and possible red so played the racial abuse victim to distract the ref? It worked anyway because he got off with it completely.

Agreed but as now action was taken by the ref the FA can look at retrospectively and he could get a ban, I hope so
