LIVERPOOL V Crystal Palace Sun April 23rd 4.30 KO

Sky have got this one down as a 4.30 KO as opposed to the usual 4 o clock, I'll double check on Sunday though, don't want to settle down in front of the telly Sunday afternoon and find its already 2-2 with half the match gone!

As for our opponents Palace they are in great form, they have only lost 1 of their last 7 and have beaten the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and West Brom (at the Hawthorns) in that run which is phenominal going for a team that looked down at one stage.
Obviously Sakho can't play against his parent club but they still have a lot of decent players like Benteke, Zaha, Townsend, Cabaye etc who can give anyone trouble on their day.
We know the score though, this game is crucial to our CL aspirations, we have to win.

Palace away is a totally different story then at home ,They are a great team playing at their compact noisy stadium away they are much less.
Keep the pressure on them and they will break.

Zaha is their main man going forward. I am hoping Klopp doesn't decide to change much about the starting 11 to try to combat their man threats. We should have enough for them.

Potentially no Matip, Klavan and Lucas.

Injuries are stacking up.

The last thing we need with Benteke leading the line for the opposition is to have Matip missing.

From the looks of of possibly Gomez will pair up with Lovren.
We've got to CB in Lovren and Matip who have got a strong partnership but they keep taking shifts in injuries. When Matip is back then Lovren is out.
We really need another solid CB to help out with that problem.

CM will be interesting, not sure who will Klopp add in. Possibly Grujić with Wijnaldum and Can.

Personally i wouldn't mind seeing something like the following if Matip, Lucas are out.

        Mignolet

Clyne Lovren Gomez Milner

    Wijnaldum   Can

        Coutinho

Firmino         Sturridge
        Origi

Henderson, Lallana, Mane, Lucas, Matip, Klavan and Ings all out with 5 games remaining this season  :no

It's a miracle that we are holding on to a top 4 spot to begin with........

I just hope we somehow manage to get through this and hold onto 4th.
I'd take scrappy 1-0 wins.

Apparently Sakho will be at Anfield Sunday, he's traveling with the Palace squad even though he can't play.
The UEFA report into his failed drugs test (which was released this week) completely exonerates him, in fact it pretty much apologises to him, the substance he tested positive for wasnt even on the banned list in fact the vast majority of labs don't even bother testing for it.
Apparently LFC haven't ruled out taking legal action, they say the whole affair completely took the wind out of our sails at a crucial juncture of the season, where we should have been on a high after knocking two top teams in United and Dortmund out of Europe the whole club was placed under a cloud instead.
The news Sakho had failed a drug test completely took the shine off what should have been one of the great nights and greatest comebacks in Anfield history.
As for Sakho he said the whole episode was a nightmare, he said it was the start of the deterioration of his relationship with Klopp and his wife, mother, sister and even his brother were in floods of tears over it.
He said he was gutted on missing out on not just the Europa League final but the Euros in the summer as well.

Very interesting info Yakka, feel sorry for him and pity we couldn't have kept him in the squad.

This is a monster for us and will be tricky especially with two of our best players over the last few weeks, Lucas and Matip, being injured. We should win it but someone's going to blink soon, hopefully its not us.

With a win tomorrow we could sit back, relax and watch our rivals take on tricky games mid-week. I think we'll patch up Matip and Lucus and just send them out. It's pretty normal at this stage of the season.

We haven't really had a heavy schedule either, we've had no European football to deal with and went out of the FA Cup relatively early as well. Squad depth is something we desperately need to address this summer.
