Is this to boost shirt sales in the US perhaps? Has to be.

Liverpool will probably make the money back from shirts sales from the Americans on this forum alone.

Shows how bad football has got when shirt sales are mentioned.

I have a feeling we won't make much more in shirts sales because we sign Dempsey. He isn't exactly a name everyone will scramble to get ?!

Which is why I said 'shirt sales in USA'....

Any I said that because as others have mentioned signing him goes against what FSG's supposed philosophy of buying younger players.

We won't make much in shirt sales in the US either. It's not a major market for football. The Far east is the market.

Because our American owners want to show of their team and they think it will boost their profile. It won't make a difference.

It's not simply for 'show' that so many of the major European teams have toured there in recent years. There is an obvious economic incentive for doing so that is based on a growing interest in the sport, and in the Premier League in particular. The US is also a place that is well set up to host these kinds of events because of the facilities it can offer elite sports teams. More than that, though, I would argue that by gaining ground in America we will have advantages in other markets. Why? Because what happens in one part of the world has ramifications in others.

He said he doesnt ever want to play for fulham again. If we want this guy were going to have to wrap it up as I think Arsenal will attempt to get him in the coming days

Either that or Tottenham will attempt to hijack yet another transfer bid we make.
