Players who've impressed this season:

The Premiership - General Discussion

Postby Stu the Red » Sun Dec 15, 2013 4:36 pm

I'm not talking about the likes of Suarez (blatently obvious)... more so players that have established themselves or are in the process of re-establishing themselves...

Begovic - For me, the best keeper in the league. Would be suprised if he's still at Stoke after next summer.

Schneiderlin - Been aware of him for a long time but didn't realise how good the lad actually was. Seems to have a bit of everything.

Lallana - I think he's an ego away from being a top player. Seems to have the lot except arrogance.

Lovren - Solid as a rock, in the air and on the ground, can play a bit too.

Ramsey - Really stepped up a level this season. Not a great player, but no longer seems out of his depth and overawed.

Barry - Everton's best player, people had said his legs have gone, but when you have a brain like him you don't need legs. Exceptionally good so far.

Mertesacker - He's been solid this season (city apart) after the hammerings he was taking last season. Obviously the lad can't run, but he's proven there is a player in there this season.

Schzeny - (however its spelt) Seems to have cut the stupid mistakes out and looks much better for it, starting to look impressive.

Sagna - his crossing so far has been exceptional. David Beckham esque crosses. Truely brilliant. Solid defensively too.

Probably a few more, but thats all I can think of off the top of my head.

Ross Barkley has impressed me this season as has our very own Toure.

I agree with most here. I'd add Luke Shaw.

Martin Skrtel's game last night against Liverpool was indeed impressive! 2 goals in 10'.

AWESOMENESS at its finest that left Arsene's squad faced palm!

Flanno definitely as well as hendo and Skrtel.

Coleman from Everton, lallana from Southampton and Ivanovich from chelsea who i reckon is the best RB in the world at the moment

I'd say Adam Johnson has been playing quite well, but that's more recent than throughout the entire season.

Jay Rodriguez has been pretty impressive as well.

Nathaniel Clyne ...Would love him at the reds often a unsung hero for the Saints ,consistently solid.
Luke Shaw ,his crossing is deathly efficient ,and its little wonder his signature is so coveted.
Yannick Bolasi ,stepped his game up with the departure of Zaha and has looked the part since Pulis took the reins.
Mark Albrighton ,Give this kid the right team and he could be phenomenal.
Ross Barkley ,There is justification for all the hype ,no ceiling for this kid.
Fernandinho ,Yaya Toure just needed a partner attuned to his vision ,low and behold this brilliant Brazilian tips up.
Etienne Capoue ,has the look of the type of quality DM Liverpool should be going after.
Gylfi Sigurdsson ,Rodgers wanted this fella badly ,and he was arguably Spudz best player under AVB.
Loic Remy ,a very capable striker .
Ramsey ,has been pivotal to the gunners improvement this season.
Serge Gnabry, composed and elegant with the ball and can see a pass with his eyes closed.
Jay Rodriguez ,Really looks like a player who was born to wear red .....fingers crossed.

1 Chelsea                        Hazzard
2 Arsenal                       Flamini (i reckon they missed him on saturday)
3 Man City                      Arguero (not the same without him)
4 Liverpool                      Sterling
5 Tottenham                  Loris (I reckon they would be behind Utd without him in goal)
6 Everton                      Coleman
7 Man Utd                      Januzaj
8 Southampton                Shaw (we should buy him)

Everton and Southampton have some really good players this season such as Coleman, Barry, Mirallas, Lovren, Lambert, Lallana, etc. Another one that's impressive is Vito Mannone.

Special mentions for Sterling (who I honestly thought had lost everything) the lad is really playing well and deserving of his place and I believe he's been nearly as key as Coutinho in our recent attacking displays.

Also to Jon Flannagan who's use of the ball and anticipation and reading the flight of the ball have proven to be absolutely exceptional so far this season. Johnson should f*ck right off, I'd have Flanno any day of the week instead.

And a big shout for Bentaleb from Spurs, the lad looks an absolute natural player, Vieira/Toure mould. Pure and utter class, if Spurs don't make the champions league, he should be the first name on our shopping list. Been meaning to mention him for a while but after seeing how good he was tonight thought it might be about time! :)
