The move will be made perm on 1st July 2019 so Southampton have committed to the purchase. Most likely there will be some sort of financial/accounting reason for the deal being structured this way. £20mil and a 20% sell on a fee is good money.

Loan with obligation to buy is just a bookkeeping solution, nothing more

Apparently Southampton is Ing's home club and his family are from there etc, so it will suit him.

A loan deal looks the best option for the first 12 months as the lad has had two serious knee injuries.

Maybe we should have got Fekir on a similar Loan deal...

Its great money if we get it. It is also likely that the fee will be structured so it wouldn't matter whether he signs now or next year, Payments could be deferred as well to get around any FFP issue they might have .

If we have an actual deal signed so that he goes next year then fair enough as long as they can't back out of it and return him.

He seemed to get a great reception when he came on. Maybe that's why

Rabiot to sign a pre-contract in Jan and come in on a free? Not bad if it happens but his sulking over missing the France squad is a red flag for me.

Italian transfer window shuts at 8pm tonight. Wonder if Migs or anyone else might secure a move.

Migs, Markovic, Origi and Klavan all need to go. However, I'd be shocked if we got money or any of them. Imagine a loan or two will be done, nothing more.

Might be worth holding on to Klavan given how injury prone Matip is, then again we still have VVD, Lovren, Gomez and even Fabinho could play there in an emergency so I guess we could let him go.

I don't mind Klavan, but given his age (32) it seems unfair to ask him to be a bench player. I imagine he wants more game time, hence the rumours we're willing to let him move on.

Klavan is in Italy having a medical with Cagliari. 2 mil fee. Would have liked him to see out the final year of his contract but I guess if he's determined to play first team football Klopp is going to respect his wishes considering we have VVD, Gomez, Matip and Lovren. Bit risky considering the injury record of Gomez, Matip and Lovren.

He was alright Klavan, came in and did the job he was brought in for. Can't ask for more than that. Best of luck to him.

Have a feeling Nathaniel Phillips will be introduced to the squad. He played a part in the pre-season tour and traveled with the squad to the USA.

Hasn't Fabinho played at CB for his previous club ? Maybe he could be an option if it was really needed.

2m for Klavan is peanuts. I thought we could have got considerably more than 2m.
