Top 6 prediction 2018/2019

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

So it is prediction times again folks.

TOP 6

1. Man City
2. Liverpool
3. Man Utd
4. Tottenham
5. Chelsea
6. Arsenal

Tough one really i feel it will be very tight from 2nd to 6th. I don't think City will run away with the title like last season however i can still see them winning it. We will challenge all the way probably uptil April.

4-6 is very interchangeable as Arsenal can end up having a good season with a new boss and Aubs nicely settled.

F.A cup - semi
League cup- Winner
Champions lgue- Semi

I may Alter before Friday if any teams makes drastic signings.

We need to finish above 4th having spent 170m on four players.

Whether we can finish 1st all depends on consistency, first few games will tell us a lot, so I'll be happy with second and finishing above Man Utd.

Plus another good run in the Champions league. As long as we don't bump into Man City again on route, we could well go all the way.

I agree with the amount we've spent we really have set the bar high this season.

I would love to see us get a trophy.

I think Arsenal and Chelsea will surprise a lot of people this season. Utd will also most likely improve (if they keep Pogba and Martial) which makes it tough to call so early on.

I'm going for this but I hope I'm wrong:

1- Chelsea
2- Man City
3- Arsenal
4- Utd
5- Liverpool
6- Spurs

You have predicted us to finish outside the top four for the last two seasons Ace, hopefully a good omen then  :D

Ace I would really like to hear your reasons for your prediction, we have our strongest squad in years and you’ve selected two teams in arsenal and Chelsea who are both in long haul slog that is the Europa league, have new managers and players that don’t want to be there, makes no sense to me at all. Anyway my prediction is below:

1. City
2. Liverpool
3. Spurs
4. Utd
5. Chelsea
6. Arsenal

I prefer to set low expectations. On paper, we have improved the starting 11 from last season. If the likes of Salah, Mane, Firmino, and VVD carry their form from last season then we have as good a side as anyone (outside City and perhaps to a lesser extent Utd).

That said, my prediction as Kazza noted had more to do with how I've consistently got it wrong when it comes to where we finish in the league. We should be hoping for 2nd or 3rd at the very worst. No reason why we wont challenge for the title especially if City have a bad run somewhere early on and Chelsea dont pull a Chelsea and win the league with a new manager after finishing outside the top4 the season before.

On the other sides, I think Arsenal have the best attacking duo in the league in Lacazette-Aubameyang. They have a new manager who is famed for getting the best out of his player, a galvanized fanbase, and an improved defense.
Chelsea added Jorginho to a midfield that already features the likes of Kante, Hazard, and Willian. They have a new manager who will no doubt play a more attacking style of play and if the likes of Hazard and Willian (2 of the best players in the world imo) catch form, they'll be almost unstoppable.

The reason I had City as 2nd is because I think Guardiola is going to experiment a bit more this season. Their defense isnt as great as many make out and outside Sterling and Jesus, the gap between their starters and subs means they are always a couple of injuries away from crisis mode.

We have a great squad, good quality players and a good manager. I'd dub us certain champions, if it weren't for one thing; f*cking manc city. It's just our luck really, when we have our best team in our Premier League history, to have such a beast of an oponent for the title challenge. Yesterday, even without the likes of de Bryne, Sane and David Silva, their main players from last season, they still managed to routinely beat Arsenal at their own pitch. Could we do the same if we were missing Salah, Firmino and Mane? We now have a strong bench as well, but f*ck me, City look like they can field their second 11 and still challenge for the title.
