LFC transfer ban over tapped up youth player

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Don't want to alarm too many here, but Radio 5 and The Times have said that the Premier League is considering a transfer ban over our alleged illegal move for a stoke youth player. Apparently the Premier League guidelines are rather strickt over this kind of thing and they're itching to make an example out of someone to stop it fro happening... :(

If there was a ban, think it would just apply to signing young academy based players wouldn't it?

It appears we tapped up a 12 year old kid, Got him to move to us and then reneged on the deal leaving the childs family in debt.  :help  https://www.theguardian.com/football/20 ... my-players
I think the ban refers to Academy signings only and not the 1st team. Anyway i'm sure the official response will be that he was only out for money

They can ban us from signing youth players, ban us from signing ANYONE or issue a suspended ban with a huge fine.

The fact we were caught out by a rule change is a fairly significant mitigating circumstance. I don't think our punishment will be so strong as to stop us buying first team players. And even if it is, it will be a suspended ban.

Its poor and we need to be better than this, we will need to win back parental trust in a very competitive environment.

Gerrards in there and Klopps engineered the merger of training complexes so we can turn this around and whoever was involved in this needs a servere reprimand or dismissal.

Not the end of the World.

With maybe one or two exceptions I think our recruitment of young talent has for far  to long been a question of throw some mud against the wall and see if any of it sticks.

So we can't buy any academy players from England for 1 year. Not the end of the world. We got caught out by a rule change so it's more incompetence than anything unethical. Still doesn't reflect well on the people running the academy.
