Liverpool FC sign Brazilian prodigy Allan Rodrigues de Souza

Liverpool have confirmed the signing of young Brazilian midfielder Allan Rodrigues de Souza.

The 18-year-old will join the Reds from Porto Alegre-based Internacional for a fee of around £500,000.

Allan trained with Brendan Rodgers’ squad at Melwood this week and was named in the squad for Saturday’s friendly with HJK Helsinki in Finland.

A club statement read: “LFC have secured Allan for the future and he’s currently spending time with the Reds with the permission of his club, Internacional.”

Allan impressed Liverpool coaches when he was spotted playing for Internacional in the Frenz International Cup in the Far East earlier this year.

He has joined up with fellow countrymen Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino and Lucas Leiva in Rodgers’ squad.

Liverpool have already bolstered their youth ranks this summer with the signings of highly-rated Dutch winger Bobby Adekanye from Barcelona and Brooks Lennon from Real Salt Lake.

I think regarding the thread intro CR has just posted what I'd like to see .

No wonder some members complain about the forum "going down" when we get such lazy threads started.

We could call them the Mario Balotelli threads....

Anywho, welcome to the club lad. Can't say I've ever heard of him, but let's hope he does more than the usual influx of unnamed youngsters who come and go through our youth system without so much as a kick of the Anfield turf.

From his YouTube vids he looks similar in style to the likes of Suso and Texiera, not sure if he will make the leap to first team regular but welcome to the club anyway.

Let me guess... 'he's Brazilian so he must be good?'

Now, now Reg let's not be too realistic here.

The sunshine, rainbows and fairy floss cult will be around soon all telling us all how "negative" you are being and to stop the "whinging".

I've heard on good authority that he's going to be the next Pele/Zinedine Zidane/Sean Dundee (delete as appropriate)  :D

When you think about it it's no wonder Anthony Le Tallec struggled when he had that type of pressure heaped on his shoulders at 18. At that age you do well to even compete against 27 and 28 year olds but because he'd been hyped to the heavens fans were expecting miracles from the poor lad.
