The 22-year-old has committed his future to the Reds by penning the new deal.

Wisdom has made 22 first-team appearances for Liverpool since being handed his debut by Brendan Rodgers in a Europa League tie against Young Boys in September 2012.

The England U21 defender joined West Bromwich Albion on a season-long loan in July 2014, where he made 24 Barclays Premier League appearances during 2014-15.

Wisdom also spent time on loan with Derby County in 2013-14.

Why have we done this??

He's struggled to get into the West Brom team and when He has played he's been awful.

Who's going to cover for the fullbacks then? I don't mind sending Wisdom on another loan as I don't think he'll make it with us anyway, but we've got no cover for the RB position. Sending Manquillo back to Atletico was a mistake.

We have Gomez who can play either side, Flanno coming back (one day) who can play either side

Not justifying the loan btw, seems odd after the lad signed a new deal

Looks like the links to Lucas Digne have cooled off now because he wanted too much money

I agree with Damjan, the one we should have kept was Manquillo, not only was he was a good out and out defender the lad was only 19 and would have improved massively over the next 4/5 years.

To try and increase his value before we sell him. A long term contract and a season of first team football in the Premier League will increase the number of buyers and his value. Not saying that's the way it will definitely pan out but I'm sure that's the thinking behind the new contract and loan.

I wonder if this loan is connected to the Mane deal, an add on payment via player loan.

Unusal team to go to really.

Officially gone.
Have to say that Andre looked very promising when he made his Europa League debut, but obviously hasn't taken the next step in his development.
Good lad, but never made the grade. Good luck Andre!

Fees undisclosed which is always annoying but speculation its about £4.5m

The 5 year contract was to get a fee, and weve not paid him hardly any salary if at all for 2 years either so the purpose of the deal was successful than him walking away for next to, or nothing. I now realise Keita isnt at Red Bull Salzburg but Leipzig so not directly connected to Wisdom having thought it may be, apologies for the error.

In fairness to Wisdom him hes been loaned from pillar to post and the 5 year deal might have given the lad false hope but hes always just got on with it and remained professional which cant be easy at times, fair play and good luck to him.
