sounds like a huge amount of money but not so extreme if you break it down. he's the kind of player that would have to be on an absolute minimum of 150k per week so that's almost 8 million already. so realistically its a 12 million for one year. if we were looking at a long term permament deal - say 4 years - we'd be needing to pay at least 50 million for a player of his calibre. looking at it as a short term transfer then the price is about right. plus having another forward of his quality gives us a good shout of staying in the CL, which makes us appear more established and attractive to the kinds of players that had doubts about us this summer. if we are back in CL for the 15/16 season then players like reus are legitimate and highly possible targets in a year's time.

As you say if we factored in wages to all our transfers the fee would probably double.

thats a lot of money for a year loan  :nod
sure i get the benefits of a deal like this but it smacks of desperation on our part.
it appears now that you wont get the best players just because you qualified for the CL  :no  you have to be an established CL club to get them.
our transfer committee suck

8 million for the loan + 12 million in wages. Sounds about right.

Would take any of the three, but Falcao I feel has a point to prove and will be hungry.

Lavezzi is the only realistic option. We should take him if the opportunity presents itself
