That's awful news. Bad injury as well as the post above me says. As we all know knee ligament injuries are well known career enders, especially for player like Ibe. Since it's just one month though it's probably not too serious.

I saw when he did it, he jarred it or hyper-extended it slightly and i wasnt surprised he was subbed as he lost somthing after that. I do not think for a minute that he will not come back 100% from that as I don't think it is that serious.

Jordon Ibe remains hopeful that he will be back in action before the season comes to an end after the wide-man returned to running at Melwood this week.

The 19-year-old was a revelation for the first team after being given his chance by Brendan Rodgers following his loan spell with Derby County.

However, the fearless youngster suffered an untimely knee injury during the Europa League defeat against Besiktas on February 26, which has since sidelined him.

No date has been set for Ibe's comeback to full training, but he's feeling happy after taking the first steps in his rehabilitation.

The No.33 told Liverpoolfc.com: "I'm enjoying it and hopefully I can push on now, keep doing the gym sessions and hopefully get back into training soon and play again.

"I was a bit nervous coming back because I hadn't been out on the grass for four weeks, but everything is going well."

He added: "It was the ligament on the side of my knee and they said I could be out for six to eight weeks, but everything has gone smoothly from here and hopefully I can crack on now and get back in action.

"Things happen for a reason so hopefully I can just learn from this, build up the strength in my knee and come back stronger and hopefully be even better."

Jordon Ibe on the verge of signing new Liverpool contract and may return from injury against Newcastle

Jordon Ibe to put pen to paper on a new long-term deal at Liverpool, The 19-year-old broke into the first team before falling injured, Ibe has been out since February after damaging his knee ligaments, The youngster could make a return against Newcastle on Monday

Brendan Rodgers concedes that Daniel Sturridge will not rediscover his best form this season after a number of injury problems

Jordon Ibe is on the verge of signing a new long-term contract as Brendan Rodgers prepares to re-launch the exciting teenager’s season.
Liverpool offered Ibe fresh terms in February after he had a deep impression in a sequence of games, particularly against Everton and Tottenham, that coincided with an improvement in the club’s fortunes.
A deal has now been agreed and it is simply a case of the highly-regarded Ibe, who has been absent since damaging knee ligaments against Besiktas on February 26, putting pen to paper.

Rodgers says Ibe, 19, has looked ‘absolutely sensational’ after stepping up his rehabilitation work in the last couple of weeks and he could come straight back into the starting line-up against Newcastle on Monday night.
The issue Rodgers must address is whether to stick with the 4-3-3 formation he used at Blackburn in the FA Cup last Wednesday or revert to the 3-4-3 system that had been the catalyst for an improvement in results.
One thing Liverpool’s manager has conceded, though, is that Daniel Sturridge is unlikely to recapture his very best form this season, given all the injuries he has suffered.

Sturridge, who has only scored four goals in his last 15 games, admitted last week that he felt it would have to wait until the new campaign to show last year’s sparkle and his manager agrees, following 12 months in which he has suffered thigh, calf and hip issues.
‘It’s a long time out,’ said Rodgers. ‘When you’re out for that length of time it maybe takes you the same amount of time to get back again.
‘The key for him was to get back and be fit but he needs a good pre-season under his belt, a total run at pre-season and hopefully he’ll be fine for next season. Until that point we have to maximise what we can get out of him.’

Rodgers added: ‘Every player is different. With Daniel there’s been a number of injuries that he’s had and that’s before he came here. He had a fairly sustained run last season and served us well but this season has been difficult.
‘He just needs to find a way to physically and mentally try to keep himself as fit as he can but sometimes that isn’t all down to you — sometimes it’s about luck as well.’

Jordon Ibe will sign a new five-year contract with Liverpool by the end of this week.

The youngster has agreed terms on a long-term deal, which will keep him at Anfield until 2020.

It is reward for the 19-year-old’s impressive development, with Reds boss Brendan Rodgers confident Ibe can become a significant player for the club in the coming years.

Ibe spent the first half of this season on loan at Derby County in the Championship, but returned to Merseyside in January, and has made eight appearances since, including an eye-catching performance in the Merseyside derby at Goodison Park.

He was cup-tied for Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final loss to Aston Villa at Wembley, but will return to Rodgers’ squad for this weekend’s Premier League trip to West Brom, as Liverpool look to end a disappointing season on a high.

The news will come as another boost to the Reds, who are close to confirming new contracts for both Jordan Henderson and Martin Skrtel.

Henderson’s deal is set to be announced this week, while Skrtel will also be tied to a long-term extension. Both players had just over a year left to run on their current contracts.

Ibe would have been out of contract in 2017, but will now continue his development at Anfield.

Liverpool are also confident of agreeing a new deal with Jon Flanagan, the defender whose contract expires in June.

Liverpool FC are pleased to announce that Jordon Ibe has today signed a new, long-term contract with the club.

The 19-year-old winger, who joined the Reds' Academy back in 2011, put pen to paper on the deal ahead of Sunday's season finale.

Ibe concludes the campaign as part of Brendan Rodgers' first-team squad, having spent the opening half of 2014-15 on loan at Derby County.

Since being recalled from the Championship side midway through January, the No.33 has impressed in 13 senior appearances for Liverpool.

Immediately after committing his future to Anfield, Ibe told Liverpoolfc.com: "I'm over the moon. It's something I've been looking forward to. I've spoken to the gaffer and I'm happy it's over and done with. Now I just want to kick on into next season, as well as the last game of this one.

"Liverpool are a great club and I like the philosophy here. I'm enjoying it - I've just been brought into the first team and I've enjoyed the games I've played in. Hopefully I can just keep doing well at the club.

"I have been given the chance to play quite a few games and I've enjoyed it. As I said, I just want to take that into pre-season and then next season, continuing with how it's been since I've been back here."

Rodgers added: "He has thoroughly deserved it.

"He is a young kid that has got a lot of potential; he still has a lot of work to do to become that consistent performer at the top level, but there's no doubting his potential and he has really grown and developed over the course of the last season.

"He came back from Derby and had taken on board all that he was coached there and had done exceptionally well.

"I could see the change in him then. He was very focused and came in and did exceptionally well. Unfortunately, he got injured in Besiktas and that kept him out for a little bit.

"It has just taken him a bit of time to get back up to speed again. He's a great talent, a big talent here for the football club and I'm delighted that he has been able to sign and commit to the future of the club."

With Sterling most likelt going to leave it just worries me that are we just becoming a intermediary club for players to move on to better things. Its happened in the past and seems like it will continue to happen. The only way we can stop this is if we continue to challenge for the title and play in the champs league. If we don't then will always lose great prospects.
Ibe seems good and if he does progress than maybe he will doca Sterling and want to leave. I think coutinho will do the same aswel.
