Liverpool Football Club - The Rumour Mill

Sevilla striker Kevin Gamerio admits he has spoken to the club's board regarding a possible move to Liverpool.

The Reds are alleged to have targeted the £10m-rated Frenchman as a possible January addition, after he fell behind Carlos Bacca (pictured, right) in the Sevilla pecking order.

The Colombian's form has seen Gameiro start just two La Liga matches this season, despite scoring 15 league goals last term - his first in Spanish football.

And the former Paris Saint-Germain hitman told local newspaper El Desmarque he has discussed the possibility of leaving the club for Anfield.

"We've spoken to the club [about a transfer to Liverpool], but they said they do not want to sell and would not let me go," Gameiro revealed.

"For now, I am in Spain. Then we'll see. I do not close the door."

The 27-year-old was also a reported target for Brendan Rodgers' side during his final season in the French capital.

Damn shame we missed out on this, mad Liverpool supporter apparently, thanks to his Dad.

Norwegian teenager Martin Odegaard has completed his move to Real Madrid.
The 16-year-old midfielder signed a contract with the Champions League winners after passing a medical exam.
"It's a dream come true," he said. "It is a bit unreal that I'm here at the biggest club in the world. It's huge for me, an honour."
Odegaard will train with both the first team and the reserves but play for the second string, who are coached by France great Zinedine Zidane.

Not bothered we missed out on him as he was touring the continent pimping himself out to everyone. He's highly rated but just turned 16 and loads could happen him in the next 4 to 5 years.
They are some lure though, Even the chance to work with zidane is a major attraction, I'd go for the weather myself  :D . Not many players make it through their academy anyway as they always just pick who they want from any club. He might not even make it unless he turns out to be exceptional which few do.
He is one to watch though.

I hate stories like this, teenage sensation bullshit. He hasn't even started playing professionally yet, not in any major competition anyway. Most of these "wonder-kids" end up being average at best. Like rtid above me says, loads can change between now and the time he starts playing regularly with the big boys.

i've seen a couple of videos of this kid and his does appear to be outrageously talented. BUT i also think that the level he is playing at allows him to shine, as he is obviously a couple of levels above everyone else in his age bracket. i'll be keeping an eye on him to see if he can keep it going when he's with the big boys.

To be fair to the Kid hes already played for the Senior Norwegian national team and the first team of the top league in Norway at the age 16, that is an incredible acheivement. He may not make it to the very top, but id be amazed if he dosnt make it to a fairly high level.

Liverpool FC transfer news today sees the club linked with £20million-rated Southampton striker Jay Rodriguez.

Rodriguez is hoping to get the all-clear next week to resume playing after over nine months out with a serious knee injury.

But Brendan Rodgers faces serious competition with champions Manchester City and long-time suitors Spurs weighing up late winter window bids for Rodriguez if the specialists' verdict is positive.

Lazio president Claudio Lotito has refused to rule out a move for Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli.

The Mail claims both Parma and Lazio are believed to have sounded out Balotelli's agent, Mino Raiola, over a potential loan move, but Raiola has insisted the Italian forward wants to stay and fight for a first-team place at Anfield.

Apparently he's going to be earning 80k a week   shocking stuff really. Maybe Sterling has a point with his wage demands.

That is indeed shocking.

Who knows whether he'll make it, many don't but it's good fun to keep an eye on him as Andy says, we might be able to look back and remember the first time we heard about him....

Another sport, but I remember when the buzz started about Rory McIlroy, people knew he was good but obviously few expected him to become world number one.

You cant blame lads like Odegaard taking that kind of money now as its one thing being incredible at 16 in the Norwegian league
and quite another carrying that through to be a world class star.

If he doesn't kick on then at least the moneys in the bank and he is pretty much made for life anyway.

Its romantic to talk about playing football but money is a huge part of anyone's life and you don't know what tomorrow will bring.
