Arsenal remain favourites to sign Petr Cech from Chelsea should they pay the £7million asking price.

AC Milan, Roma and Real Madrid have all shown an interest while his agent maintains Liverpool are also in the frame.

Cech, 32, who starred for the Czech Republic last week, wants to play regularly after being displaced by Thibaut Courtois as Chelsea's No 1.

Cech's agent Viktor Kolar says a January move for the Chelsea goalkeeper is unlikely unless one of Europe's top sides suffers an injury to their first-choice keeper.

Speaking to the Czech media on Friday, Kolar said a switch is still in the balance.

"In the football world you can never rule out anything definitively, however if you put together the facts with Petr's ambitions of a top-class goalkeeper, you will not be left with too many options," said Kolar.

"If we add to this the actual little need of these few clubs to search a new goalkeeper in the winter's transfer window, then you will find out that the chance of a transfer in the next weeks or months is not very high."

Brendan Rodgers wants to sign West Brom hot-shot Saido Berahino in January.

Liverpool boss Rodgers is pushing for a move to get the England U21 striker to solve his injury crisis.

West Brom are determined to keep Berahino and are trying to tie him down to a new contract but are facing an increasing battle to keep him.

Tottenham have also been looking at Berahino while Manchester United have been linked with the 21-year-old who got his first senior England call-up for this month's double header against Slovenia and Scotland.

Berahino is valued in the £15m-plus class and West Brom have already insisted they will not do business with any of his many suitors in January.

He has scored seven goals in the Premier League already this season - including one against Liverpool at Anfield - and been compared to former Arsenal and England hitman Ian Wright by Baggies boss Alan Irvine.

"I played with Ian at Crystal Palace and Wrighty had that energy and enthusiasm and wanted to run in behind people.

"That's a real strength of Saido's, too. If he keeps doing that then defenders don't like it and he will keep on getting his opportunities.

"I didn't say he is as good as Ian, but he is that type and he is heading in that direction.

"Ian became better and better as he went on, that was down to what he already had plus the fact he never lost that enthusiasm. He always had that approach to the game and his training."

Liverpool's are preparing a £10million swoop for highly-rated England U21 star Nathan Redmond from Norwich City as they attempt to reinvent their season.

Brendan Rodgers is keen to bring Redmond to Anfield as he believes the young star can make an impact with Raheem Sterling as they both have similar skill and speed.

The Reds' boss has his scouts on the case to assess Redmond before he makes his swoop to capture the young star.

However, he will have to enter a battle with Southampton in January if he is to succeed in the race to sign Redmond.

The south coast side had a £5million bid rejected for Redmond in the summer but are still keen to secure his services in the January sales.

But with Southampton riding high as they sitting in second in the Premier League, a place in Ronald Koeman's side could be more attractive for Redmond.

Liverpool are also keen to bring Jackson Martinez to Anfield.

Inter Milan star Mauro Icardi has been tipped to join either Liverpool or Chelsea in a sensational £28million summer move.

The 21-year-old was backed to move to England over the summer, but rejected offers from the duo to stay in Serie A.

However, reports in Italy claim that Icardi is not part of new manager Roberto Mancini's plans, and that the striker could yet make the move to the Premier League.

And speaking to La Gazzetta dell Sport, former coach Jesus Hernandez tipped Icardi to shine in England should he link up with either Brendan Rodgers or Jose Mourinho.

Hernandez said: "If Icardi played in Spain or England, where he is likely to go, he would be a star."He will become one. He has the talent to be the new Ronaldo. You'll see."

Liverpool are the latest club to be showing an interest in Petr Cech, who could be allowed to leave Chelsea for £7million.

Cech has become frustrated with his lack of first-team action after Jose Mourinho made Thibaut Courtois his number one goalkeeper this season, and a move away looks inevitable.

Mourinho is ready to cash in on the 32-year-old if he pushes for a move in January and Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has already been heavily linked with a move.

Liverpool are also on the lookout for a new goalkeeper and reports suggest they have also joined the race for Cech's signature should he become available.

Real Madrid, Barcelona, AC Milan and AS Roma have also been linked and Mourinho would rather Cech move abroad.

Tottenham have joined Arsenal and Liverpool in the race for Porto star Jackson Martinez, according to reports in Spain.

The striker has developed into one of Europe's top marksmen in the past few years, netting 60 goals in 91 appearances over the last two seasons.

The current campaign has seen Martinez continue his stunning form in front of goal, finding the net 12 times in just 16 games.

It has led to both Arsenal and Liverpool enquiring after the 28-year-old's services as they look to bolster their attacking options.

However now, according to Spanish news outlet Fichajes, Tottenham have joined their Premier League rivals in the race to sign Martinez.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly keen to sign a striker in January after Emmanuel Adebayor's slow start to the season.

The former Arsenal and Manchester City forward has managed just two goals in 10 appearances so far.

Liverpool and Manchester United have been handed a huge boost in their quest to sign Bayern Munich star Xherdan Shaqiri after he ruled out a January move to Napoli, according to the Daily Express.

The midfield star is ready to leave the German giants after once again struggling to make a breakthrough into the first team on a regular basis.

Recent reports suggested that Liverpool are interested in the 23-year-old, while it has been suggested that Bayern would be receptive to a swap deal involving Ander Herrera at Manchester United.

However, it came to light that Serie A giants Napoli were ready to provide some serious competition for his signature.

But Shaqiri's agent, Ulisse Savini, said that despite the idea being his, a move to Napoli may not be ideal for the player's aspirations.

"If Xherdan moved away from Bayern, it would be just in order to get more time on the pitch.

"I suggested him to Napoli, but that's a difficult transaction since Bayern will hardly let him leave on loan for free, and it wouldn't make sense putting him in competition with other similar players."

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has set his sights on a trio of January targets according to CalcioMercato.

The Anfield side suffered a third successive Premier League defeat on the weekend and find themselves down in 12th place but it appears the club's owners are ready to bankroll moves to bring in some much needed reinforcements when the transfer window reopens.

Liverpool have been linked with a £7m move to bring in Chelsea keeper Petr Cech.

The Czech Republic international finds himself in the unaccustomed position of warming the bench at Stamford Bridge with youngster Thibaut Courtois now being seen as Jose Mourinho's first choice starter.

Rodgers has also set his sights on Colombian goal machine Jackson Martinez.

Liverpool will offer £30m for the FC Porto marksman who has scored 72 goals in 107 appearances since moving to the Primeira Liga side and could be tempted by a fresh challenge.

The Merseyside club are also readying a £10m bid for Norwich City winger Nathan Redmond as Rodgers seeks to bring in further wide-attacking options.

The England U21 international is also being pursued by Southampton.

Inter Milan are expected to make a bold attempt to sign Paris Saint-Germain striker Ezequiel Lavezzi, a move that hasn't gone unnoticed by Tottenham and Liverpool.

According to Italian sources, Roberto Mancini wants to increase Inter's attacking threat and ease the pressure on top scorer Mauro Icardi.

Lavezzi is valued at a sizeable £17million, however PSG may be forced to accept a reduced transfer fee to prevent the Argentine from leaving for free in the summer of 2016.

Releasing the 29-year-old will also ease UEFA's Financial Fair Play burden that is constricting Laurent Blanc's ability to strengthen in the January transfer window.

Other than the emergence of young Harry Kane, Mauricio Pochettino doesn't have a great deal of striking options and could turn to compatriot Lavezzi.

It has been suggested that Pochettino is ready to clear the decks at White Hart Lane, and show the disappointing Roberto Soldado and Emmanuel Adebayor the exit.

Liverpool are another contender for the Argentine international's signature.

Liverpool are ready to sign Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech, Porto striker Jackson Martinez and Norwich winger Nathan Redmond in a £47million triple deal.

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is under pressure at Anfield but will be given time to turn things around - starting in the transfer window.

And according to reports, Rodgers wants to bring in three top players, starting with £7million-rated Chelsea goalie Cech, who would replace Simon Mignolet between the sticks.

Cech would be followed by £30million Porto striker Martinez, while Norwich's England U21 starlet Redmond is also being tipped to join for £10million.

It's hoped all three players could hit the ground running and give Liverpool a big boost ahead of the second half of the campaign.

Tottenham have joined rivals Chelsea and Liverpool in the battle to sign Inter Milan starlet Mauro Icardi.

Italian sources claim the North London club are desperate to sign the 21-year-old striker, and are willing to meet Inter Milan's £28million asking price.

Signing Icardi will be far from easy for Spurs, especially considering that fierce competition posed by European giants Atletico Madrid, Chelsea and Liverpool.

A Turin-based daily newspaper revealed that Inter would be receptive to offers for their coveted star, and would happily reinvest the sizeable fee in transforming their ailing fortunes.

Milan would no doubt struggle without their top scorer who has netted seven of their 18 Serie A goals this campaign.

But the opportunity to cash-in on a player they signed just 16-months ago for £10m would surely benefit the side in the long run.

Chelsea are firm favourites to add Icardi to their already stacked squad of stars, while Pochettino is ready to clear the decks at White Hart Lane to make room for a January transfer blitz.

Liverpool have also been linked with the Argentine international who could be the answer to their striking woes.

Manchester United and Liverpool have been boosted after Franz Beckenbauer confirmed that Xherdan Shaqiri can leave Bayern Munich in January.

The Premier League duo both hold an interest in Shaqiri dating back to the summer, but at that time the Swiss winger insisted he wanted to stay and fight for his place at Bayern.

But the former Basel man has rarely featured in the first part of the season and Beckenbauer - Bayern's honorary president says he can leave if he wants in the upcoming transfer window.

He told Sport1: "Bayern have already sent out a message and indicated to him that he can probably go in the winter break, if he wants.

"I think it's a shame because he is a great talent."

United and Liverpool are sure to face fierce competition for the 23-year-old's signature with a number of Italian sides also thought to be keen.

But it seems that guarantees of playing time could be a deciding factor in Shaqiri's next club after the player's Italian agent, Ulisse Savini, said earlier this week: "If Xherdan moved away from Bayern, it would be just in order to get more time on the pitch.

"I suggested him to Napoli, but that's a difficult transaction since Bayern will hardly let him leave on loan for free, and it wouldn't make sense putting him in competition with other similar players."
