Early team news...

Sturridge limped out of training yesterday after complaining of pain in his thigh and was sent for scans.

Henderson also picked up a minor hamstring injury on Hodgeball duty and is a doubt for Sunday.

Can't see anything other than a win here finally, 2-1, really scrappy, we'll concede a shocking goal and play rubbish and look tactically wrong... again... play players out of position and win because we have more quality players.

I do worry if Hangeland and Kelly play well though we could struggle to cause their back four problems.

Can't stand him either red, would love to throw bundles of smelly cat turd at him. He's like Allrdyce and Hughes, always lose because of the officials and never gives any credit where due unless it's his mate he's against.

At least those god damn awful international breaks are over (well until next March at least), the stop/start nature of this season (not to mention Sturridge getting injured on England duty just after we'd demolished Spurs on their own patch) hasn't helped us at all in terms of finding a settled side and our rhythm.
It's wall to wall domestic footy now right through to next spring.

Brendan Rodgers expects to be able to call upon the services of Jordan Henderson for the trip to Crystal Palace this weekend – but Liverpool will need to assess Mario Balotelli.

The pair picked up injuries while on international duty, with Henderson sitting out England's victory over Scotland with a hamstring problem while Balotelli returned from the Italy squad after sustaining a knock.

Rodgers told journalists at Melwood: "Jordan missed the game against Scotland, but I think it was just as a precaution, really. He had a slight tightness.

"He was on the bench, but he wasn't risked. England had other good players to come in.

"He should, hopefully, be fine for the weekend."

On Balotelli, the boss added: "He had an issue with the Italian squad, who he returned back from. We'll assess that over the next couple of days."

Jedinak and Ledley are both very strong players but not very quick. BR needs a win here and with the resources we have there should be no excuses.

If Balotelli does start/play then he will need some movement in his game Hangelaand is so strong and will dictate everything in the air but is as slow as they come.

Im hoping we start a 4-4-2 diamond as we need numbers up there.

Warnock has 0 balls so wont even try and get a win against us like the likes of QPR,Newcastle and WBA did so i expect us to dominate possesion but with Wilfred Zaha, Yannick Bolasie and Jason Puncheon their speed on the counter will cause us problems.

He missed the game against Scotland cos he was the worst player on the pitch against Slovenia. His form has been p1ss poor this season and it scares me that BR sees him as one of a number of first choice walk straight into the team players that are performing so poorly. The only way to get these players to start looking at themselves and their contribution this season is to drop them and show them that they haven't a god given right to the first team unless they are there on merit. The only way Rodgers is going to turn this round is to start being ruthless and start players who are hungry and have form rather than those who know no matter how they are playing will be in the team the next game.

I agree BC, the whole idea of having a squad is that you can rotate players when ever they are suffering from injury or loss of form. Players like Lovren, Gerrard and Henderson have barely put in a performance of note since August yet their names are some of the first down on the team sheet.
I am a huge fan of Rodgers but he seriously needs to start giving other players a go, he put his faith in Gerrard to run the show from quarterback and Lovren to Marshall the defence but that plan has clearly backfired, its nearly December and we're in the bottom half of the table and just 4 points away from the relegation places, how much longer can he keep picking the same players?

Everyones obbsessed with two strikers, for me the biggest problem is the lack of width we are playing with, especially as this is something that at times last season helped Sterling influence games so well.

Rodgers has done an absolutely fantastic job of stiffling him this season and the longer it continues the worse things will get.

With the players we have now a deep 4-4-2 would suit us down to the ground allowing us to get the best out of our best players... at the moment our system doesn't get the best of any attribute out of any of our top players... its almost like our own game plan is to stiffle everyone of our best players strengths and play to their weaknesses... teams don't need to tactically set up to stop us at the moment as since August we've been doing that ourselves brilliantly.

Mind blowing.

:no

You just hope that in games like this where we do have the better players we manage to scrape it due to our extra quality.
