Borussia Dortmund have put contract talks with Marco Reus on hold.

Dortmund were keen to negotiate a new deal with their prized asset before January to deter Premier League interest.

Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal are all expected to make a move for the 25-year-old, with £32m reportedly enough to bring the winger to England.

However, the Bundesliga giants have now ended their talks with the 25-year-old as they prioritise on improving their league position, winning just twice in nine outings.

Dortmund are keen to keep the former Borussia Monchengladbach star, but he may be tempted to leave in the winter window if the club's form fails to improve.

"Nothing has changed about our intentions to continue our collaboration with Marco," sporting director Michael Zorc said.

"But the current situation demands full focus from everybody at the club.

"Our biggest priority at the moment is to get out of this difficult situation. Everything else comes after that for now."

Liverpool could make a sensational move for Malaga goalkeeper and Mexico World Cup star Guillermo Ochoa after missing out on the shotstopper during the summer.

As revealed by Express Sport, Liverpool and Arsenal were both desperate to land the 29-year-old following his release from French outfit Ajaccio.

Ochoa put in a number of world-class performances during his time with the national team in Brazil, but the keeper opted to join Malaga as a replacement for Willy Caballero, who linked up with Manchester City.

However, Ochoa has failed to make a single appearance for the La Liga outfit after penning a three-year-deal, with boss Javi Gracia preferring Carlos Kameni between the sticks.

And reports in Spain claim that Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is weighing up a potential January swoop for his former target after seeing first-choice Victor Valdes link up with Manchester United on a trial period.

Rodgers is seeking a new keeper to provide competition for Simon Mignolet.

Metro: Reus closer to Reds deal

Liverpool are clear to try to sign Marco Reus after Borussia Dortmund ended their attempts at trying to get him to sign a new contract.

Reus had rejected the offer of a new deal at Dortmund two months ago, but the German club have been holding talks with him to try and get the attacker to change his mind.

However, they've proved unsuccessful, and Reus now looks certain to be leaving with the Daily Express confirming all talks are now over.

The news will alert Liverpool, who are believed to be leading the race for Reus, having reportedly made him their number one transfer target.

It's claimed a bid of £32million would be enough to get Reus, who wants a contract worth £180,000-a-week.

Liverpool want to finally sign Mexico World Cup hero Guillermo Ochoa in January.

Ochoa, who sparkled for Mexico at Brazil 2014, was strongly linked with the Reds after the tournament, but ended up moving to La Liga side Malaga.

However, the switch has turned sour with the shot stopper yet to play a single league match - and reports say Liverpool are now planning to sign him in the new year.

Liverpool have reportedly moved a step closer to signing Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus according to the Metro.

Brendan Rodgers is apparently 'in the clear' to sign the 25-year-old German international are he turned down his side's latest contract offer, this coming after months of talks with the Westfalenstadion attacker.

Reus is now seemingly certain to leave and Liverpool have been linked with a £32m bid for his services, with the former Borussia Monchengladbach man demanding a contract worth £180k a week.

Borussia Dortmund's chances of keeping hold of Reus will not be helped by their shocking start to the Bundesliga season, with Jurgen Klopp's side sitting in 15th spot in the table having lost an incredible six games from their first nine fixtures.

Reus is certainly an able finisher, 45 goals in 96 appearances for Borussia Dortmund, this after racking up 21 goals in his final season at Monchengladach.

Liverpool have been boosted in their quest to sign Borussia Dortmund winger Marco Reus after his contract talks were put on hold.

The Reds are not alone in trying to persuade the Germany international to come to the Premier League as both Arsenal and Manchester United have also been linked but Dortmund are keen to keep him.

They were in discussions about a new deal for the 25-year-old to try and ensure he stayed with them but because Jurgen Klopp's men are having such a poor run in the League, with just two wins this season, all talks have been put on hold, increasing the chance that he may be on the move.

Bayern Munich are also very keen on the winger, who has apparently got a buy out clause in his present deal of just under £20m.

"Nothing has changed about our intentions to continue our collaboration with Marco," Borussia's sporting director Michael Zorc said.

"But the current situation demands full focus from everybody at the club.

"Our biggest priority at the moment is to get out of this difficult situation. Everything else comes after that for now."

Liverpool target Mattia Perin is unlikely to leave Genoa before the end of the season, according to the player's agent.

The goalkeeper has been linked with a switch to Anfield after a series of stunning displays, although Matteo Roggi says he has not had any contact from Liverpool.

And he says Perin, 21, wants to stay at Genoa until the end of the season unless an 'undeniably good' offer arrives in the winter transfer window.

"I think it's normal that when you do well, big teams tend to be interested. But at the moment I haven't heard anything from Liverpool so I think it's only a rumour for now," Roggi told calciomercato.it.

"Mattia is one of Genoa's finest pieces, but logic leads me to state that he will stay there until the end of the season.

"He needs to in order to keep growing at what he feels like his home. And that's what he thinks too.

"Obviously in football, you can never say never because if in January somebody came with an undeniably good offer, then he would leave."

IMO, we missed out on not getting him in the Summer. Would definitely pay the 10 million but I wouldn't be surprised if he stayed at West Ham.

Arsenal and Liverpool are preparing to try and beat AC Milan to Real Madrid outcast Asier Illarramendi.

The 24-year-old has struggled to win a place in Carlo Ancelotti's plans despite costing £25m when he joined from Real Sociedad in 2013.

Illarramendi was once again given a chance to stake his claim in the cup game against Cornella this week but failed to impress.

The youngster has only started three games for Real this season and now looks likely to be available on loan in January.

Milan had been tipped to make a major play for Illarramendi in the upcoming transfer window, but it now seems they could face competition from the Premier League.

Indeed, reports in Spain suggest that both Arsenal and Liverpool would be interested in brining the player in on a short-term deal.

For Arsenal, Illaramendi would represent an alternative to Sami Khedira, whose future at Real looks equally uncertain.

But Liverpool are also interested in strengthening their midfield by adding Illaramendi to the growing Spanish contingent at Anfield.

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has held talks over a new deal at Schalke, amid reported interest from the Premier League.

The Dutch striker is available on a free transfer in the summer and the Bundesliga club were said to be willing to cash in on January.

Liverpool and Arsenal have been touted as potential suitors along with Tottenham, who considered flogging Roberto Soldado to make room.

But according to Schalke general manager Horst Heldth, discussions have been held with Huntelaar keen to remain with the club.

He told BILD: "I am able to confirm a chat with Huntelaar.

"It was a good conversation. Both parties have signalled a basic interest in a new agreement to carry on together in the future."

Huntelaar has enjoyed an impressive season to date, scoring seven times in 11 appearances - including the equaliser against Chelsea in the Champions League.

Borrusia Dortmund star Marco Reus has issued a statement over his future.

Reus - who missed out on a World Cup winners medal with Germany through injury - has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs.

Bayern Munich have officially declared their interest in the 25-year-old, irking Dortmund.

But Reus has moved to dismiss talk over his future, albeit cryptically.

"At the moment there are a lot of people talking about my future," he said.

"There is a lot of speculation and a lot is being written.

"So I would like to take this opportunity to say that other people are thinking more about my future than me."

Reus has made just six appearances for club and country this term, scoring two goals.

Sadly think Reus has bigger fish to fry. One of the most coveted players around. Looks like Bayern may well get him in the summer

Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keeping tabs on the situation of Schalke striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar as he ponders his future, according to the Daily Mirror.

The Dutch international may be about to renew his contract with the Bundesliga club, though he is currently free to leave the club for nothing at the end of this season as he attracts plenty of interest from abroad.

Liverpool and Spurs are among his main admirers after his superb goalscoring exploits in the German top flight, as well as with the Netherlands at international level.

Both teams could do with strengthening upfront based on performances so far this season, with Tottenham relying on the goal-shy pairing of Roberto Soldado and Emmanuel Adebayor.

Huntelaar has shown an eye for goal wherever he has played, and Schalke will no doubt be desperate to tie him down to a new deal in the coming months as top clubs circle.

The 31-year-old would be free to negotiate a move for next season from January onwards, and may be open to trying a new challenge.
