Liverpool Football Club - The Rumour Mill

Liverpool and Arsenal are continuing to monitor Gonzalo Higuain's Napoli unrest, and have been boosted by the players refusal to comment on his future.

Italian sources claim the Argentine is unhappy at Napoli and will look to manoeuvre a deal away from Serie A in the summer.

The Premier League duo have continually been linked with a move for the 26-year-old, and Brendan Rodgers' side are even reported to have offered a sizeable £31.2m bid to sign the striker.

Rodgers is under increasing pressure to bolster his strike-force with a proven world class forward capable of emulating Luis Suarez.

The Italian side are in a precarious financial position - exacerbated by their early Champions League exit, and could be forced to sell to recoup their economic shortcomings.

Higuain is by far the club's most lucrative asset, and could fetch a considerable fee in the region of £30-35m if Liverpool are challenged for his services.

Germany winger Karim Bellarabi has become a hot property among the Premier League's clubs.

Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal, Tottenham, Manchester City and Newcastle all had scouts watching the Bayer Leverkusen star in his side's 2-0 Champions League win over Zenit St Petersburg on Wednesday.

Bellarabi, 24, has been in impressive form this season as Leverkusen have made a good start in the Bundesliga and climbed to the top of Champions League Group C.

It has taken him a long time to make the breakthrough, but Bellarabi has made it into the Germany squad and played the full 90 minutes of their recent Euro 2016 qualifier against Poland.

Not sure we should really be looking at wingers, a new keeper, a new center back, a top draw defensive midfielder and a defensive coach should be our priority

Somebody else mentioned Steve Clarke, he would be perfect and has worked with Rodgers before

Yea when 95% of the forum enjoy and appreciate the time put in to keep us up to date, it's easy to avoid the couple of people who continually complain about it for some inexplicable reason.

Been linked with a move for Berahino in January. Been impressed with this kid. Good finisher and mobile to. Apparently WBA want £25m, which is too much IMO for what he has achieved so far

Seems a really decent prospect this lad, i remember last season he took manure apart at old trafford as well, would be a nice option if he could be brought in under 15 million

With Borini hopefully finally getting the hint now that he is not wanted here, would be a good swap out of players

the story doeboy was talking about below...

Liverpool will consider a January move for West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino.

The England U21 international starlet has been targeted by Tottenham Hotspur and there has been a £15million offer mooted by the north London club.

That falls ways short of the price which would persuade West Brom to sell.

The Baggies believe Berahino is worth in excess of £25m, and Liverpool's potential interest could see a bidding battle with Spurs.

Liverpool are set to move for a new striker, with Behahino now high on the list. Swansea's Wilfried Bony - a Spurs target last summer - is another option for the Reds.

Manchester United are ready to step up their interest in Dutch wonderkid Daley Sinkgraven.

Louis van Gaal is worried that the Old Trafford giants may lose out on the 19-year-old attacking midfielder to Real Madrid, Barcelona or Liverpool after some eye-catching performances for Heerenveen this season.

He has ordered his scouting team to bring him more detailed reports about Sinkgraven's progress with a view to agreeing a deal with his Dutch club in January.

Van Gaal knows all about Sinkgraven's background - the player's father, Harry, played for Groningen and Zwolle.

Any deal is likely to see the player stay with Heerenveen until the end of next season to continue his footballing education.

Ajax are also interested in the Dutch U21 star but Van Gaal's reputation for developing young players could be decisive.

Borussia Dortmund attacker Marco Reus is apparently open to a move to join Liverpool just so long as the Anfield side are willing to meet his wage demands according to the Metro.

Brendan Rodgers is keen on bringing in the German international and Liverpool are ready to meet his reported £20m release clause and the 25 year old has turned down the offer of a new deal from his Westfalenstadion employers.

Reus wants a contract worth £180k a week and is apparently willing to join Liverpool if they make such an offer.

Reus could offer Liverpool a solid link between midfield and attack or could perhaps be a player Rodgers would use in a striking role, the former Borussia Monchengladbach man having a healthy strike rate.
