How on earth is that thread derailment you mupper Kopite jud mentioned why we didnt bring in a foreign striker with a good strike rate i pointed out that when we  bought probably our worst striker in history in Aspas he had a decent season with Celta Vigo

We could and should have gone for Falcao.

We went for him this summer, he turned us down saying he has got his heart set on a move to Madrid then next minute rolls up at United. We probably need to consistently qualify for the CL a lot more before we can attract those types of names

Interestingly on the Times website chat with Tony Evans (Sports editor, LFC author and support) today, he suggested that Rodgers was only partially to blame for the transfer failings.

He indicates that LFC have a transfer committee who identify and finalise signings. He states that Rodgers should only take 30% of the blame.  He definitely doesn't think it is time to kick out the manager.

No... 12 goals isn't a good return.

I was refering to Suarez's goal to game ratio at Ajax and Southampton signing Pelle and a goal scoring/ assist machine midfielder Tadic

People who are bang in form. Not someone that might be alright in 3 years time.

We don't have time if we dont make it back into the Champions League after spending 117 million were back to square one!

dont think his position is under threat at all scs.
we all know we have a committee and that they have a part in transfers but personally i would say brendan has a little more input than evans is suggesting. he refused a D.O.F and i can only assume that was because he wanted more control in that area so its not likely he would accept it from a committee either.

i do think he discusses his targets and fee's with the board but i don't for one second think he is having players forced on him or taking players he doesn't want. except for balotelli, who i think he might have been over ruled on as he never is a player brendan would take and the handling of the player since gives that theory legs imo. i'd bet he wanted bony but the board thought balotelli was a better option, probably because of him being cheaper and willing to take less of a wage than wilf.

at the end of the day brendan is not going to put his head on the line with a squad of players he doesn't want or rate. he wouldnt have touched the job under those conditions.
