The new lads have got to get their Prem experience sooner or later but I'd be careful about throwing too many of them in for this fixture.

I'd go with

.                                        Mignolet

.               Skrtel                 Lovren                 Sakho

. Manquillo                        Gerrard                                 Enrique

.              Sterling           Henderson          Can/Coutinho

.                                     Sturridge

Tight at the back, solid in the middle, a point in this game wouldn't be a bad thing plus with our pace always a chance of catching them on the counter.

Nice one CR, Brendan did say in his pre match prezza yesterday that Markovic will be in the squad on Monday and Lallana will be allowed to train with the rest of the lads today so it's good to see everything has gone to plan.

I think we may want to be a little more conservative for this one.

I for one would drop Skrtel for 2 reasons. I still feel he is positionally naive and makes too many mistakes. And Man CIty is a big powerful team. If he is not injured, this may be the game to use Sakho in defense. Also, I am quite surprised that Flannagan seems to have become the forgotten man. Is he out injured?

A little more steel is also required in midfield so I would start Can, Hendo and Gerrard as the midfield triumvirate.

I would start with this setup..

                Mignolet

Flanno   Lovren   Sakho   Moreno

    Hendo     Gerrard     Can

Sterling                    Markovic/Balotelli
                  Sturridge

Injuries mean that Flanagan, Agger, Enrique, Lallana and Assaidi won’t be in the squad although Lallana is back in training and will be available for Spurs next week. With the Balotelli deal all but complete I can’t see Borini being risked ahead of an inevitable move to Sunderland. By his own admission Can needs to improve his fitness so I can’t see him starting. I can see Allen coming in for Lucus to give us more energy in midfield but apart from that I think it will be the same 11. I can’t see Moreno being thrown in against the likes of Nasri and Silva after only a week or so training especially with new another new boy Manquillo already in the team. I think we’ll line up like this:

                        Mignolet

Manquillo     Skrtel     Lovren     Johnson

                 Gerrard     Allen

   Henderson     Coutinho     Sterling

                        Sturridge

Subs: Lambert, Marković, Can, Lucus, Moreno, Sakho, Jones

Agree on all but one position ,we either Play Moreno or start with 10 man ,Glen shouldn't be on the bus to Manchester.

That's the team I'd like to see as well mate but as you say there's no chance of him dropping Gerrard (or even Johnson).
Whatever team we put out we could do with a really good performance tonight to let the footballing world know that our project is still on course even without Suarez.
