Balotelli is a top striker... he may not be a world class striker yet, but IMHO he's already shown he is a top striker... Drogba's record at Chelsea:

Season     App   Goals
2004-05    41 16
2005–06 41 16
2006–07 60     33
2007–08 32 15
2008–09 42 14
2009–10 44 37
2010–11 46 13
2011–12 35 13

Only 2 seasons, he's scored more than 30 goals... the rest are pretty above average of 16's, 15, 14 and 13's... and nobody will say that Drogba is not a top striker...

Not sure were you got those stats from Mags, I found these which apart from his time at Le Mans show that Drogba basically scored every other game.

Years        Team                         Apps         Goals
1998–2002 Le Mans                           64              12
2002–2003 Guingamp                        45              20
2003–2004 Marseille                        35              19
2004–2012 Chelsea                       226             100
2012–2013 Shanghai Shenhua        11                 8
2013–2014 Galatasaray                37                15
2014–         Chelsea                          1                 0

Drogba was truly a top top strker. IMO Balotelli has yet to achieve that status but I'll agree he has the potential to do so.

Drogba didn't even play for Marseille until he was 25/26 mate, before that he was either playing in the French lower divisions or for French mid table teams - a far, far lower level than what Balotelli has operated at.
Considering Balotelli only turned 24 on the 12th of this month and considering he has been playing against top defenders since he was 17 his goal scoring record is more than respectable. England and Italy are probably the two hardest countries in world football to score in, Mario hasn't had the benefit of a cushy apprentiship in somewhere like Holland, Belgium or France and that will reflect in his goal stats.

i had read somewhere that balotellis shot accuracy last season was 52% compared to suarez's 50%. with the chances he will get i can see him breaking 20 this season no bother.
its all down to mario though, he needs to have the right attitude and work ethic because if he doesnt  he wont play. if he buys into brendans way then he will be a success imo.
have to add though that i dont like all this talk of eto, stuff like he has had a medical in case rodgers dont get the assurances he wants from mario. we are much better set up imo with sturridge and mario with lambert as back up. if brendan really wants eto then he shouldnt have bought rickie.

Yeah your right, Balotelli will be a scoring sensation easily overtaking every striker we've ever heard of. Silly of me to even question his record   :p

I'll retire to a dark room and have a word with myself   :kungfu:

I saw that comparison and they were quite matched. The biggest glaring difference however passes and assists with Suarez having 20 assists compared to Mario's 7.

agree on the assists and passes but that was in two totally different teams. as i said if he buys into the system and gives it his all his tally's will increase because he will be working for others and others will work for him.
i think he will be fine and will turn up full of commitment but how long that lasts is anyones guess but the crux of it is that he need's to make it here.
