We don't need Eto'o, Sturridge, Balotelli and Lambert is more than enough cover

Don't agree ,Sturridge is the only proven striker in the squad ,MArio is more a leap of faith then a logical signning ,and Lambert is a good lad but i doubt he would fit our attacking scheme ,Eto'o ,too me ,seems a very good backup option.

To put it in very basic terms, i would prefer have Eto'o on the bench than Borini  :nod

I can't see the point of having so many ego's sitting on the sidelines, just asking for trouble imo

Recall that nobody would touch Cantona and United got him cheap, look what happened there.

Balotelli could be that for us, missing piece.

Balotelli will probably be getting enough game time to stop him getting bored but barring an injury crisis Eto'o will be hardly getting a look in. I just don't see the point in having a player like Eto'o hanging around kicking his heels on the sidelines all season.

Looks like Etoo is a back up option if Balotelli falls through and providing it doesn't we just need an average keeper
to cover, and with respect finding a better goalie than Brad Jones shouldn't take a lot of work or money.

Alex Song was mentioned which would be the cherry on the cake if we would get him and offload Lucas, but now
Im expecting too much, unbelievable window and credit to Ayres who I have absolutely slaughtered in the past.

God only knows what changed with him this summer but something did, maybe the club just became more attractive.

It has been an amazing window but I read somewhere that our net spend is only £22m!
Suarez going for that type of money has allowed us to spend heavier than we have ever done in our entire 122 year history without running the risk of doing a 'Leeds' and gambling away our future.

I agree mate, after giving it some thought i would be happy to have Eto'o as a back up striker as long as we can get the Borini deal done

4 strikers in Sturridge, Ballotelli, Lambert and Eto'o with all our flair players providing the amo would frighten anyone

I've been saying for a while, for safety I think we need 4 strikers. I was kinda hoping we'd see a Falcao come through instead, but for the money, it makes a lot of sense. Any money saved on the transfer goes towards wages and 'almost' self finances. A little bit of additional experience never hurt.

I always thought he was a striker

Seriously though if Eto'o comes I can not see it ending well

I'm reading that our interest in Eto'o is purely as a plan B in case the Balotelli deal falls through and would be a twelve month contract only.

As for should we sign him anyway.

A fourth striker would be a good thing but Eto'o ? . Personally I wouldn't sign him, he'd probably demand a significant wage and spend the vast majority of his time just sat on the bench. There's something about Eto'o that I dislike, it's the fact that he strikes me as such an obvious fking mercenary and I don't think his "part time just here for the cash" presence would be good for the squad .
