LIVERPOOL v Manchester City  31st July 0.10 am

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Postby ycsatbjywtbiastkamb » Wed Jul 30, 2014 4:03 pm

Over on RAWK they seem to think this will be the team tonight to face City -

                               Mingolet

    Kelly           Coates            Toure           Enrique

                               Gerrard

                 Henderson             Allen

                              Coutinho

                 Sturridge             Lambert

Apparently Brendan is going to experiment with the diamond.
I have to say it doesn't look a particularly good side, no threat from the flanks whatsoever, looks like a team designed not to get beat to me. Hope those ITK's over at RAWK are wrong.

Looking forward to this game, going to try and stay up for it even though work will be a struggle tomorrow!

That centre back partnership against the fire power of that City team would worry me greatly.

I know the result doesn't really matter but you don't want to get blown away by a rival a few weeks before the start of the season. Hopefully that isn't the team.

The likes of Can and Markovic need as many minutes as possible to try and integrate them.

Yeah, I read that we may start with that line-up as well. Don't see anything wrong with it, it's certainly not too defensive. We played it a few times last season and we looked good. Would like to see Markovic and Can get more game time, but I'm sure they'll come in at some point of the game. My only worry is the back 4. We are playing City after all, they scored 5 goals in their previous match.

Jones starts in goal, apart from that the team is the one posted in the OP. Apparently Markovic has got a knock and won't feature.
City's line up isn't as stellar as it could be either.

Not exactly working for us is it? Players not up to it either. Well, at least Coates was able to show that there might be hope in him yet. Hope we do better in the second half.

Tuned into the last 15 mins of 1st half..... Not even worth a look everybody looks to be in second gear apart from Coutinho... hard to make out the stream is poor quality.

The stream if anyone wants to join in

Why isn't Markovic even on the bench?

Stevie again.. He really has had an interesting few months. I think Mignolet probably could've done better, but Gerrard's touch was awful.

We've had a couple good opportunities against their keepers now tho, and we need to be putting these away.

They probably should've had a pen there.

We are so out of whack offensively, we just can't seem to string more than a couple passes together. And how the f*ck is glen johnson still a professional footballer? he gets beat so easily and then slowly walks over and doesn't even try to play defense.

Great play there from Sterling and Hendo! What a goal!

We have like 10 of our best 11 on the pitch and we're still second best.

You can really really tell we are missing a world class superstar....

Rodgers if you have any money left, no more youngsters for the future.

Sterling is going to have a f*cking season. I hope we aren't gonna be fighting to hold onto him by the end of next season.
