Nobody really knows what the price was. I've seen three different prices quoted already today. There's complexities as Bournemouth get a proportion of the transfer as a selling on fee.

Who cares how much he costs?? If he does well then it was worth the price, if not, it wasnt. Whats the big deal? We can afford it so stop waffling on about the money. Cant stand all this negativity over nothing.
Welcome the lad and be positive instead of questioning his worth before hes even kicked a ball

A lot of people saying that Bournemouth received £4 million for the Lallana deal, which means we only paid £16 million up front for him, and anything else would be add-ons.

Yeah, I just read that the price is £16 million, which could potentially rise to £25 million. If that's the case than we can't really complain. Credit to Ayre as well, if it's true of course.

Too right, all those on here crying over a transfer fee that apparently never was.

Regardless the fact remains that most on here would rather assume the worst and attack the club

every outlet i have read is reporting the deal is 25MIL. whatever bournemouth get from that is nothing to do with us as its southampton who has to pass on a percentage of what they get.
is that not why they held out for 25mil in the first place ?
lallana cost us 25mil whether we put all that up front is another story but he cost 25 mil

We've deffo overpaid but as others have said if he plays well for us the fee won't really become an issue, but if he stinks the place out then obviously the fee will be called into question.
The ball is in his court really.

Looks like Lallana will be out injured for 6 weeks according to reports this evening. Won't need an op though apparently

Looks like he will miss the first 3 games. Unfortunate for the lad. Suppose the only saving grace is that is has happened now rather than after the season has kicked off.

It's never great when players miss out on pre season training though mate, the work they do in the summer builds up their fitness levels and stamina reserves for the entire season. It might take him 6 weeks to get over this knee ligament strain but it will probably take him a lot longer to get 100% fit because he'll be starting from scratch.
By the sounds of it though the club are just mightily relieved that it's only 6 weeks, when they realised he had damaged his knee ligaments they feared the worst.

whats the role going to be for lallana anyway. is he primarily going to be used in a wide position offering competition for markovic and sterling or coutinho in the hole ? maybe for all 3 ?
was hoping to get a look at him in the preseason and see what role he will play.
