Toffeehater wrote:That is a amazing list , cheers saint . The thing about rafa is he's not afraid to cut his losses and ship out players if he feels they don't perform unlike other managers such as fergie who kept veron , klberson , djemba djemba when they :censored: poor . He's ruthless in that sense and he rather get some money back now than even less a couple of seasons later

Well I guess that explains the quality players in our squad like Dossena, Degan and Babel.  :D

Dudek
Finnan
Traore
Hyypia
Carragher
Riise
Gerrard
Luis Garcia
Alonso
Kewell
Baros

Subs:

Carson,
Josemi,
Nunez,
Biscan.
Smicer
Cisse
Hamann

Developing that theme, how many of the squad Rafa inherited were 'good enough' ?

Hyypia, Riise, Carra, Gerrard, Finnan, Hamann, and arguably a case to be made for Cisse. That's not nearly as bad an inheritance as many make out. Notice that all of Rafa's signings in that squad are now also gone - Carson, Alonso, Luis Garcia, Josemi and Nunez.

So who are the top five longest serving Rafa signings now?

1. Jose 'Pepe' Reina : 04/07/05
=2. David Martin : 12/01/06
=2 Daniel Agger : 12/01/06
4. Fabio Aurelio : 05/07/06
5. Dirk Kuyt : 18/08/06

Godwin Antwi (01/08/05) I believe is still here, currently on loan, but not in the 1st team picture.

6. Nabil El Zhar : 01/10/06
=7. Lucas Leiva : 01/07/07
=7. Andrei Voronin : 01/07/07
=7. Charles Itandje : 01/07/07
10. Fernando Torres : 04/07/07

So signed only a couple of months over two years ago, Torres is already among the 10 longest serving senior/1st team squad players. Mascherano was only a loanee until February 2008, Benayoun, Babel, Insua, Plessis and Skrtel would be next in the list and then last season's signings, then this

DISCLAIMER : this is based on one source, apologies for any inaccuracies should there be someone missed or whose date isn't 9 zillion percent accurate
Never buy from PC World, product quality is poor and their 'customer service' is even poorer
