Liverpool To Give Youngster Daniel Sanchez Ayala A New Contract – Report

After impressing in pre-season, Liverpool are set to give the young defender a new contract...

Liverpool are about to reward Spanish defender Daniel Sanchez Ayala with a new contract after impressing on the club's pre-season tours of Switzerland and Thailand, according to Sky Sports.

The 18-year-old has impressed Rafael Benitez's backroom staff but is yet to play in the Premier League.

That will probably change this season as the former Sevilla centre-back is likely to see more first team action and will compete with Daniel Agger, Jamie Carragher and Martin Skrtel for a first team berth.

The competition may be tough but it has been eased somewhat with the departure of experienced defender Sami Hyypia.
