We need to avoid man city and spurs in the quarter final draw, I would assume :)

Not sure if I'm ready to board the hype train after this game... But it's damn tempting!

Hopefully we can avoid a negative result from the next game. We do tend to believe we are unstoppable at times.... Only to be stopped by the bottom team.

Better we attack Porto and try to win 2+-0 so the second leg will be a less intense game.

I know nothing about these lads except that they'll have watched all the videos of how to beat us.

Good luck Reds, let's batter them.

Further evidence that Klopp lurks on this forum!!!   :buttrock  :buttrock  :buttrock

With the reply 4 days before the Man Utd game this win will be invaluable in retsing key players ata  key moment.

Well done reds!   :bowdown  :bowdown

That front 3  :hearts

We seem so much more assured with VVD in the side it's insane. I hope this continues because as RBG said it's seriously starting to look like VVD is more vital to the side than Phil was.

No side on the continent will want to face us, I fear our English rivals would be more accustomed to our style so they will bring a struggle, especially over 2 legs.

Just a fantastic night and don't be under any illusions we made a decent Porto side look awful. I honestly think they were a bag of nerves and that is indicative of just how far we have come. The players that have been bought since the arrival of Klopp are in a different league. Robertson is looking like bargain basement at £8m. I really rate the lad. As for Firmino, Mané and Salah for less than £100m well that just looks a bit crazy and proves categorically that you don't have to spend idiotic sums to get really good players !! Even Karius is beginning to look better and I believe that's because he has got VVD in front of him. I know it is early days but VVD looks incredibly impressive. His distribution and creativity are something that has been missing in our centre backs for a very long time.
Net Spend Over The Last 5 Years (10 years
are in brackets)
LFC £255m (£467m)
Everton £38m (£287m)
Arsenal £645m6 (£925m)
Spurs £510m (£541m)
Chelsea £788m (£1007m)
Man City £307m (£1012m)
Man United £702m (£1249m)

A faultless performance and an excellent win, and I wish I can say that about every game!  the return games should the second team and the youngsters are given a game.
The next round must avoid the Spurs.

The 2nd leg i would prefer if we rest Salah and Firmino for the mannure match. Lallana, Ox, Ings, Klavan with a mixture of our regs will do.

Mane looked significantly better. He looked like he was genuinely enjoying playing again. He was also a lot more selfless, looking to play people in rather than just taking shots, and he still scored 3. Klopp allowing him to switch over to the right could be all it takes to get him back on track, and if we get him playing like he can again then we should have a very good chance at the top 4.

We’ve bounced back well since the abysmal performance against WBA. 12 goals scored and only 2 goals conceded in 4 games, one a wonder strike and the other from some shocking officiating. Our defense is looking much more comfortable with VVD and Karius back there, and I think TAA deserves a shout as well.

Agreed that some players can be rested but if he did the above and it backfired I wonder if he'd be a nutcase again...

Brilliant...nothing in life are more interesting that to give opportunity to the hopeless and for your opponents to smell a chance of a historical come back...and they said Klopp is mad???
