Liverpool vs west ham - 27-02-11

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Postby Scottbot » Sat Feb 26, 2011 10:08 am

It's 9am Saturday morning and no-ones set up a match thread! Don't think i've started one for about 5 years and i've got a ticket for this one so was really hoping for Berm to start it and guarantee us a win!

Tricky one this as you never quite know what your gonna get with West Ham lately, they've got goals in the side with Carlton Cole, Robbie Keane and that other lad who's name i can't remember (Obinne I think). Still, I reckon if we can get an early goal and get hold of the ball then their heads will drop.

I fancy us to get out of there with a 2-0 win. Goals for Suarez and Mereilles.

Fingers crossed Stevie is back for this one.

Isn't it at Upton Park?

Our last three games have been very flat - Roy-esque dare I say. Hopefully the ''honeymoon period'' under Kenny isn't wilting.

We've got every chance of winning this but we'll have to up our performances if we are to achieve that, hopefully we will, hopefully Gerrard will be back and perhaps we'll get to see a glimpse of Carroll.

I hope we go back with the 5-3-2 formation simply becouse we played our best games of the season with that formation. It may look a bit defensive but with Johnson and Kelly playing as wing backs it would be more as if we were playing a 3-5-2. Plus, I want the team to get more used to this formation, no matter if it looks defensive and we're playing West Ham, it's our best formation and we should stick to it!

Anyway, I'd give Poulsen a chance since he played a good game last time against West Ham. I'd want the line-up to look like this:

                              Reina

                 Carra   Kyrgiakos   Skrtel
      Kelly                                          Johnson

                            Poulsen
                                              Meireles
               Gerrard

                           Kuyt     Suarez

We get Gerrard, Kelley and Agger all back from injury and playing their best, Meireles back to his wonder ways and Suarez playing like he has, 3-0 us, Suarez, Meireles, Suarez.

               Gerrard

                           Kuyt     Suarez

Most sane people tend to judge form on recent games not against certain opposition. Poulsen played sh!t in his last game, and most others he plays. Put money on him NOT starting, if you're sensible.

Damjan, seriously, I think you need to read your posts over and over again before posting them. Actually, don't post them.

Ya if any different mid will start it would be Joe Cole.  I highly doubt KK would put Meireles on the left, he's done well in the center.  He could put Joe Cole on the left tho, and that would be way better then having maxi out there.

Every time poulsen plays you do know that thousands of little fluffy kittens throw theirselves into rivers.......on your heads be it poulsen fanboys !

Back to full strength hopefully, gerrard must be champing at the bit to get back playing.

Kelly and agger fit?

If not i would go with

Reina

Johnson
Carra
Soto
Wilson

Meireles
Gerrard
Lucas
Maxi

Kuyt
Suarez

back to business again so ill predict a 3.0 win for us.
                                         reina.
         johnson.           carra            skyrtel       wilson.
                                    lucas.
                                           merieles.
                       gerrard.                            cole.
                                              suarez.
                                       kuyt.
kelly and agger came off against sparta and soto got stitches so we could see a different back 4.
cole needs games to gain match fitness so id play him on the left over maxi.
gerrard is back and hope to see him merieles and suarez link up and create some good chances.
