Liverpool Vs West Ham 12/08 13:30 Ko

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Gosh, we seem to have a lot of injured/unfit players for this one. VVD looks like the only fully fit senior CB, despite the fact we have 4 others.

Yes. Matip, Gomez, and Klavan and Fabinho all look injured so he could end up playing Milner there :)

West Ham have got injuries to Lanzini, Andy Carroll and Winston Reid. However they still have Arnautovic, Wilshere, chicarito in their starting 11.

Our defence looks a bit patchy.

Maybe Trent or Clyne could fill in at CB for the game, or even the lad Phillips.

Sounds like Gomez or Matip will play alongside VVD. Both were involved in part of the training session on Thursday so should be able to get through a game on Sunday even if there is some risk involved. Klavan is definitely out and Lovren will be available for either next weekend or the one after.

The Hammers have got a new manager Pellegrini, so this should be interesting..

My prediction?.. The Hammers will get "Hammered" :p

Being the first "proper" game of the season i think we will give it a good go. Also considering it is at home with our atmosphere.

I feel Naby, Firmino, Salah and Mane will go on a savage rampage.

However with respect to Westham they will give it their all.

Liverpool 3-0 West Ham

Salah
Mane

I think we'll go into this all guns blazing and want to show the league and everyone else that we're a team to fear this year. I think we'll press high up the field and completely overwhelm West Ham into errors and then we'll capitalise.

I'm gonna predict a 4-1 win.

Definitely facing a bit of the unknown as it's all change at West Ham. But with Pellegrini in charge for sure they won't be looking to park the pass. They'll be looking to keep the ball on the deck and compete in the middle third of the pitch. With a new coach and a number of interesting signing it could make for a good game if we don't come out of the blocks quickly. But if we score early it may be a walk in the park.

I think it will be Trent at RB instead of Clyne and Gomez alongside VVD. Probably Henderson, Keita and Gini in midfield. And the usual front 3.

I hate the hype and the atmosphere over this game, and our apparent tittle challenge in genetal. Everyone's saying we're gonna win the league, we usually bottle it with that kind of pressure.

Or maybe I'm just being nervous.

Yeah I know what you mean mate, everyone is expecting big things from us this year (including opposition fans and the media) and that's usually a cue for us to fall flat on our face, hopefully this group of players are made of sterner stuff and can cope with the weight of expectation.
We are even under a little bit of early pressure because of yesterday's results, all our main rivals won (bar City who play after us), even Everton had an impressive result, Wolves are fancied this year but Everton should have beaten them on their own patch despite playing more than half the game with a man less.
We started last season poorly and our title challenge was basically over by mid September, we don't want to make the same mistake this year so we need to come flying out of the blocks today.

Pressure or no pressure, we won't win the league this year. For this reason this will be my last post of the season... Happy days, I know!
2019/20 will be our time. As for now... We make and take great strides like we did last season.
WE GO AGAIN!  :buttrock  :buttrock
